Look at the lettering - the letters in MAC are the wrong place and they are shaped oddly. It appears to be a fake MAC font.

Looking at both pictures given in the listing, the look just like the set brushes I bought in-store. The font looks the same, placement, everything. Even the little gap which appears on the "M" in MAC. THe only observed differences are that my brush handles are black and my lettering isn't embossed, just printed. I think these are genuine. I'd like to know when this set was released, tho.
