Should I go to an opthamologist?

So I woke up this morning and one of my eyelids is pretty swollen and slightly pink in color. When I touch it or even blink there's a slight pain in my eyelid. Nothing wrong with my actual eye that I can tell. I googled it and a lot of possibilities come up, but most recommended going to the doctor if there's pain (but it's not that severe).

Just trying to decide if it's worth the trip and money to the eye doctor. Any thoughts?

yeah. sounds like a stye to me . Ive had them before, my dr . gave me drops for it.

What about just going to your primary care physician? They might be able to treat it too.

Thanks for the advice. I was trying to avoid going because I have no insurance (long story), and if it was just irritated I didn't want to waste the $100+, but I decided my health is more important than being in debt, so I did end up going to the doctor.

Do you wear contacts? If so, I would discontinue use as you might have an infection. If not, perhaps you have pink eye or an allergic reaction but I would go see an Optometrist.
