Sigma Brush Help

Ok first off I bought into the hype because they sounded nice and my aunt passed away a month ago and left younger kids. Before this happened I saved enough to buy a bunch of brushes and neutral eyeshadows from mac(over 400). I was going to buy it on the Friends and Family event but she passed away June 14th. Knowing not to spend money I didn't. I know money should be going to my mom to help out. So my husband sees me looking at these brushes and watching tiffany D and Enkore etc etc. These brushes are everywhere. I come onto specktra and everyone is RAVING.

WELL the 150 and 187 stained my towel I laid them flat to dry. I kept washing and washing them and dye won't stop coming out of them. I used the Enkore deep cleaning and deoderizing since they stunk worse than some fake brush and also bleed worse.

I'm getting rather annoyed I never in my life had a brush that bled so much. How can I stop this problem? I am so upset right now and they don't take returns. I know 64 isn't much but it is when you financially told yourself you needed to be there for younger people. Maybe this is karma since I did this for myself but seriously I am so upset. Can someone help me?

I did email all the youtube guru's who were hawking it and Sigma with no response yet. I am so mad I feel like unsubscribing to everyone who hawked this without telling us they smelled and they bleed like a bitch.

Swirled the 187 in a coffee thingy after washing it for the umpteenth time! (on top is cleaner). The blue dye won't STOP!!!

Odd! I have the whole set, and they've never bled or shed. Maybe it's a hit and miss with some sets? I would try to contact the company again and explain exactly what happened without going into hysterics. I'm sure they don't want unhappy customers.

Btw, don't blame yourself for doing something nice for you.

I have the complete set and never had issues with bleeding or odor either. I would definitely attempt to contact the company again...maybe you got a bad batch.

I did contact them. I have to wait 72 hours before I freak out. So far soaking them which is probably horrible for the bristles for a long time changing the water is working OK. I'm still kind of miffed. This shouldn't happen. Thank goodness I washed because if I put on my liquid foundation with the 187 I would have dye all over my face LOL.

I have no Idea. The soaking method didn't even work. My hands are all messed up from washing them so much. I'm surprised no one else has this complaint. I honestly give up. I know those brushes now can never be used for a cream or liquid. I just think people should be honest. I mean maybe they give you tube people better quality idk but I did not expect stinky brushes but that I could have been OK with but the dye is unacceptable. I mean NO ONE has anything to explain how I can remove it. My bathroom sink is all blue tinted. It's seriously awful. I'm sorry but not even those fake brushes you get or drugstore brushes let alone mac brushes bleed like this. They should be ashamed.

No response from the gurus who hawked this crap and my comment on some videos warning people NOT TO BUY was deleted by the guru's. Sadly I'm going to unsubscribe

My condolences on the passing of your aunt.

It really does sound as though you've had a bad batch. I also own the whole set (as well as a separate #150 that I bought before I decided to purchase everything) and I have not experienced the problems you have. The water ran clear on almost the first go and I have experienced no shedding.

I would do what the others have suggested and get them exchanged. I do think they are great products, so hopefully customer service gets things sorted out for you.

It sounds like you got a very botched batch. I would definitely contact their CS and explain how this is not only not what you were expecting, but just plain defective. If they don't want this to be representative of their brand, they should offer to replace your set.

I empathize with your experience, but I don't really know that it's fair to accuse prior reviewers of lying or misrepresenting the products. (For what it's worth, I ordered the set and am really pleased with the quality, and have had no issues with bleeding or shedding.)

WOW!!! I would be really mad too and $64 dollars is a lot of money to spend on something you can't use. I had a similar issue with some crown brushes that I purchased. I couldn't get the bleeding to stop so what I did was let the brushes dry completely then go back and try washing them again. The water did eventually run clear but I'm still pretty mad about it. Good luck with your brushes I'm sorry for your Aunt's passing.

I agree with everything Mae said. It sounds like a fluke - I also just bought a set (I was reluctant too to buy into the hype, but finally caved) and I bought the same set you purchased the $64 one without the brush roll. I received them on Friday. I washed them right away Friday night, let them dry on a washcloth overnight and there has been NO BLEEDING. I've been using them all weekend and love them. I would rave as much as the Youtube gurus too, if I had a channel - so don't fault them.

I;m almost positive the Sigma materials say if there is a defect (and I think clearly if they are bleeding as much as you say that would count as a defect) then you can return them. I hope the company would honor that.

I hope you follow up and let us know what happened. I have issues with businesses that won't stand by their products.

Hi there! I am lurker but I am responding here because I have had similar issues with my Sigma brushes. I also bought the set after seeing the review on youtube. Unfortunately I am not happy with the brushes. The dye keeps coming off when washing and my 224 is defective or something. I used it and it felt so harsh on my eye after inspecting it a bit it looks like it has a plastic bristle. Also few of my brushes like the SS109 shed something awful. Basically I feel like I wasted a bunch of money but it is a lesson learned. I hope they can make it right for you.

I am really sorry to hear about your aunt, you have my condolences.

I am still waiting an email back. I didn't mean to sound like I was judging other people's reviews just that sometimes a company might give someone whom they know will review a better quality product. It seems to me that I DID get a botched set which should NEVER happen. There should be quality control. I am a little emotionally upset over these so maybe I didn't come off as fair. I will update everyone on what happens

Nope not just you. Last night after I read your post I did a google search and found a couple of reviews that are not so glowing. Here is one

{VANITY BOULEVARD}: SIGMA BRUSHES--- up close, reviews... and some rants.....

Also this one, I think the company is a little shady. Scroll all the way down.

Good luck, back to lurking I go!

So an Update. Tiffany D was kind enough to message me back and try to help
smiles.gif
. She really is a good person. Also the company emailed me told me to return the brushes for a semi refund(for the brushes I return) or replacement. I think the face brushes I got were botched the eye ones are OK. The 168 is shedding but I'm thinking of just cutting my losses and just asking for another 150 and 187 because of the dye issue. I'm really scared these new brushes will be botched but then like I said the quality could be there if it were not for the dye... and shedding on the 168. I will probably ask for replacements unless I chicken out. Either way I will post what happens and if I get replacements how they are (Hopefully fantastic)
