Soba e/s - turns into a murky grey mess..

I got Soba e/s recently to help build up my neutral collection and it's a beautifull deep tan colour which look just like it's meant to on Jude's eyes (saw an FOTD at MUA) and in swatches aswell but on my eye lids it doesn't apply like the colour is meant to at all, in fact it barely shows up when i first apply it (might be a little to do with my skin tone, but not that much) so i have to apply alot of it and then as the day goes on it has turned into a unrecognisable murky, muddy, dull , v.dark grey colour...

Does this happen to anyone else? It might be to do with the fact that maybe my UD PP isn't working as well as it's meant to as i've had it for 6 months but even though i know it's not working as well as when i first bought it, all my other eyeshadows still show up like they're meant to and don't crease when worn on top of it. I think it may also have a little to do with the texture of it, it's incredibly smooth, but almost melts into the skin when you apply it regardless of a primer.

This is really annoying me, instead of the neutral looks i want to be sporting, i'm ending up with a dirty looking smoky eye! Maybe i should have got Patina..sigh..

I've had no problems like that with it. It may just not be mixing well with something you're using beneath it... concealer, primer, foundation?

Try it with Magrittes or Structural Brown Paints and you will see such a difference mama. I seem to be one of the minority that hates UDPP.

Jude - Thanks, i have Magrittes so i will try it over that! I would prefer to use Paints always as i prefer the texture and finish but UD PP is the only thing that actually works as a primer for me, so i usually have to wear it underneath Paints aswell!
Hope it works!

It's all good. Not everythiong works for everyone! I don't use UDPP either, or Prep+Prime eye for that matter.
