so the collection finally arrived at my counter today. after much debating (i could tell the MUA was getting annoyed...) i just got the strange hybrid lipstick i planned on buying even though provence looked so much better live and the lipglasses prize petal and first bloom and moonflower E/S were also very tempting... but i got no money so i said no-no...

Fertile e/s.. is there anything similar to it? I love the color from what I've seen.. but I'm wondering, is it close to grape pigment or mystical mist e/s?? Thanks!!!

Kali

Not a MAC item, but Fertile is almost identical to UD's AC/DC (which I'm trying to swap away!) but with sparkles (which vary in staying power according to the person). I really should've checked that before I bought Fertile, but ah well.

So far I've gotten Fertile (duh), Hothouse l/g, Flowerplay l/s, and Moonflower e/s. I'm trying to use Purple Shower and Endless Love as subs for Floral Fantasy e/s, but I think FF is brighter than the other two, working with the collection better. Rose Blanc I keep telling myself is like Whistle or Cloudbound, but it's such a nice buttery yellow, which the other two are not. Seedling e/s still calls but I'm trying to ignore it... and the fotd's using Orchidazzle are pulling me towards it... but I want to hold out for Moonbathe & C-Shock, ack!

I found the same exact thing with Seedling!!!

but maybe you guys can help me out and preent me from spending money i dont have this month lol... can somebody tell me if provence is a nice colour for highlighting and how it looks (compared to rose blanc, nylon, magic dust e/s or other?) so maybe i can convince myself its not worth to get? please?

Provence is just OK. The other three that you mentioned are defintely better as provence is much more matte in comparison. In fact Rose Blanc is my new HG highlighter!

Finaly i got Strange and Exotic l/s. Nice plummy brown with a hint of wine!
Not the typical spring colour, but great for my liking.

Yeah it is pretty dark for spring, but I like it, esp. with Vino lip liner (a helpfully tip from a MAC MA).

Same here!
If any of you haven't yet tried "Orchidazzle," don't be put off by its appearance in the tube.
It looks blatant unapologetic crayon purple, and it's still purple-toned on the lips, but it's sheer enough to be quite flattering and wearable. It's a terrific spring color, and looks gorgeous with Petalpoint blush.
I'm NW15; brunette; green eyes.

"Rose Blanc" is more golden- yellow(ish?) however now that i swatched both in my hand... they are slightly different ..i'm nc30 for reference.

If anything, Rose Blanc is a prettier Nylon (on me anyway).

I kept hearing less-than-enthusiastic buzz about it, so I opted for a small sample.
That turned out to be the best move; I have no desire for more than a 1/4 teaspoon of this one.
That's okay; MAC has made, and likely will make in the future, many pigments that I love to the point of hoarding them.

Yup because Gunmetal looks very promising. Maybe I will get a backup of Orchidazzle and Fertile when I go to return it.

If anyone wants to wear Fertile eyeshadow but are not satisfied with it I found a way to make it a more intense purple. By applying Macroviolet fluidline to the eyelid before applying Fertile, it helps to make it a more rich and intense purple. Very very pretty. I got many compliments on it when I wore it yesterday on the lid with Black Tied on the crease. =)

I have to agree. I was a little turned off by the way it looked in the tube, but the guy at the MAC counter talked me into testing it. He said there is two ways you could wear this. Either you could wear it really purple or a more toned down purple. He lined my lips with "subculture" lip pencil, then applied the "orchidazzle", and finally topped it with with "opal" lustreglass. He had me sold.

The next day I got so many complements on the color I went back and bought another tube of it. IMO it's the best color out of the collection.

I love Orchidazzle in the tube, but as soon as I apply it, it turns out to have more red in it than blue. At least on me. Makes me just a tad bit disappointed, as I was really hoping it would be a deliciously blued violet on me.

I wonder if applying a little blue pigment of some sort over it would help.

I almost bought the eyeshadows needed to recreate the Cultured look, until I realized that I had the colors (with slight hue variations) already in my collection. I did a haphazard application of the look at the computer, loved it, and decided against buying the shadows. Still might, but what I really want after seeing a photo of it is the Petalpoint blush. And I don't wear blush. Ever.

And off-topic: I saw Blueberry Fizz mentioned yet again, in this thread this time. I'm going absolutely mind-chatteringly INSANE with want over that goddamn lipstick. oh the pain. And since I don't think I have anything worthwhile for a trade...well, methinks I shan't ever obtain it.

Yeah, I need sleep.

I'm sort of new with the whole pigment thing, but I would think that would work or maybe using 'Magenta' l/p underneath. The MA tried that on me first and my lips were really purple and he topped it with 'Flashmode' l/g.

Oh awesome. I'm off to try that right now. Thank you!
