What about these brushes?

My feeling is that they are both fake. The 168 in that picture has a second plastic sleeve over the head of it, and I'm sure I read that real MAC brushes don't have this. Also the angle of the bristles doesn't look right. M·A·C Cosmetics | 168 Large Angled Contour Brush

The bristles on the 239 don't look very neat, either, compared with the picture on the MAC website M·A·C Cosmetics | 239 Eye Shading Brush

The numbers on the handles look quite deep, too. I think that on the genuine article the number can easily be rubbed off. I'm sure someone else will be able to confirm whether that's the case or not

Not True. They are slightly engraved. If you rub off the numbers the impression will still be there. Both look real to me.

Thanks for your help.

Although I can't tell from the pictures, I realised 2 things

1) All the MAC brushes on sale are the ones available in the fake 8 set
2)the first two bits of feedback on her list are bought!

I think I'll just save up and buy from a store!

Reading those listings, I think it's fair to say that English is probably not that seller's first language. Under 'Item description' it says 'New Brand' Now either that's a genuine mistake due to their lack of English, or it could be intentional

Maybe I'm just a little too suspicious of ebay auctions these days
