what am i doing wrong? (mascara--eyeliner, light lashes)

im a natural redhead, so ive got light lashes...i use brown-black mascara (lashblast) and i get it as low to the lid as possible but when i take photos, etc, i notice that my lashes basically are non existant near the lid and from the top (eyes closed) theyre still light brown LOL...what am i doing wrong?

am i supposed to coat the topside too in mascara?
am i supposed to do eyeliner on my top waterline?

Maybe try tight-lining? I can't remember what blog I saw the tutorial on, but basically just getting liner right into the roots.

try tight lining with a brown, and yes, i would do one or two wiggles of the mascara wand on the top of your lashes, then through the bottom.

if you find its still visible, i would get your lashes tinted at a salon. its cheap and you wont need to worry about mascara. my mom does it (she gets them done black) before a trip and they look great.
