First six weeks of teaching kindergarten are over..woo! I don't feel completely clueless anymore, and my kiddos are showing me that they're actually learning what I'm teaching them. I have 22 kids, got 2 new ones last week and one withdrew, and the toughest part is not having my own assistant. I share with 2 other teachers, so I only have her for part of the morning. :/ We learned about weather a couple weeks ago, taught the water cycle and the 3 big words (evaporation, condensation, precipitation). We're in the cafeteria lunch line and the cafeteria lady switches out an empty tray of food. They keep boiling hot water underneath to keep the food hot and so steam started rising up. One of my little boys goes "It's evaporating!" Haha, I felt like a proud mother..seriously. It's moments like that that make the bad days where the kids are off the wall wild and I go home absolutely exhausted sooo worth it.
