what haircut / haircolor should i go for?

well right now im still pregnant. DUE NEXT MONTH. so i have time to think about how i want to dye my hair. but i really want to cut it because i have so many split ends, result from straightening it all the time! I just want a style that will "fit" me. and also if you girls can recommend a color for later on? that would be great! okay and this is me!

i know its edited (they both are) but this is just to show you how my hair is when it is straight.

and this is the non-edited picture. natural hair color - and not blow dried or anything.

i think ud look good if u went dark brown and got some chunky light/medium brown highlights

that's what i have right now and it does look good, but i want something different..anyone else have any suggestions? im trying so hard not to get it the same way, but if i cant think of anything else i will just do the dark brown again with the brown highlights..
