I would like to know which is it easier to become/get hired for? I would think it would be a counter because they don't get the same demand as the freestanding stores, but I could be wrong. Any input ladies??

try working at a counter first. the pro stores usually hire people that have worked for a while as a freelancer or at a counter. plus, you learn so much working at a counter. its a bit busier.

I think working at a counter would be easier to get hired for. I have a friend that works at a counter in Macy's and when a position opens up in a freestanding store, approximately 20 people (give or take a few) apply who already work for MAC (this is in the Northeast).
