Why do I feel silly in bright e/s?

Hey.

For the past several months, I have been stuck in neutral on my eyes. I'm not sure why this is, as I wore everything before and collected quite a few colorful MAC e/s. I guess my problem might be that I don't know what to do with the rest of my face when I am wearing colorful eyes, and for some reason, I am not as comfortable with colorful e/s as I used to be...

However, I'm sick of the shadows sitting in my collection and never being used. If I list every MAC shadow I own, could you please rec some color combos for me and maybe give me some ideas what to do with my lips and cheeks as well? I would appreciate this SO much...there are so many lovely colors in my stash that have been neglected for a looong time.

I hope I can remember everything I own; I have:

-Satin Taupe
-Cranberry
-Gleam
-Say, Yeah
-Deep Truth
-Tilt
-Humid
-Juxt
-Vex
-Greensmoke
-Retrospeck
-Trax
-Sketch
-Pink Freeze
-Naked Lunch
-Botanical
-Flirty Number
-Patina
-Woodwinked
-Star Violet
-Nocturnelle
-Parfait Amour
-Swish
-Club
-Nylon
-Phloof!
-Tempting
-Bronze
-Woodwinked
-Jest
-Anti-Establishment
-Brill
-All That Glitters
-Honey Lust

I also have the Inventive Eyes quad (Twillery, White Wheat, Velour and Inventive) and the Trend palette (Satin Taupe, Gingersoft, Pearl of the Earth, Cinders, Tease n' Teal, and Gorgeous Gold).

As far as pigments go, I have Golden Olive, Violet, Blue Storm, Blue, Rose, Melon, Rose Gold, Goldenaire, Lovely Lily, Tan, Vanilla, Chocolate Brown, Deckchair, Coco, Provence, Dark Soul, Pink Opal, and Rose.

I'm an MMM (on the lighter end of the spectrum) with light-to-medium brown hair and green/brown hazel eyes. I'm a MAC N5 and consider myself pretty neutral.

Please help! I don't want all my gorgeous colors to go to waste. I have lots of MAC lipsticks, glosses and blushes, but am too lazy to type them all out. I might have what you recommend, but if not I am sure I could find a similar color of another brand in my stash.

Thanks a bunch!!

Some help....

If you're going to do a neutral eye then sometimes it's nice to do a bold cheek and lip.....any of the Mineralized Skin Finishes are beautiful in the cheek area and MAC is coming out with a lip stain which is a nice alternative to glossy lips.

As far as your eye shadows go...you have endless possibilities..
like, Sketch with Star Violet, Club with Nylon and Honey Lust, Nocturnelle with Flirty Number and Greensmoke.

Hope I helped a little....when you have some extra time the best thing to do is sit down and play with all your colours.

Try Woodwinked in the crease with Rose e/s in the inner corner!
It's not that bright but it's a step away from neutrals!

To ease into bright colors, do your outer v and crease with a neutral (satin taupe is great), and just use the bright color in the inner v. Blend the bright into the neutral. HTH~!

Thanks for the ideas -I look forward to using more of my stash instead of just the same few items.
