im thinking of writing mac and trying to get fellow mac addicts to sign a letter asking them to make pigment vials permanent. i think they would make a killing off of them. good idea or no? and would you be interested in signing it?

I think this is a GREAT idea! so many of us just buy samples off others (because honestly, who goes through an entire pigment jar!?).

and if MAC is thinking, they'll realize that a lot of us would be more likely to buy pigments if they were in a vial instead of a jar!

sign me up!

I think so too - only the vials are AWFUL to use - I would prefer the same size in different packaging

That`s a great idea! The only reason I don`t buy the pigment jars is cause I`ll never go through an entire one!

vials = great for regular use of every day people

jars = great for makeup artists (or people like me who prefer entire jars so that they'll last a good 69 years)

Yes I think vials should be perm and at ALL counters/stores. Its just impossible to go through one full jar when you have 93737 other ones.

I love my vials except for the design flaws that have been mentioned. My concern would be the cost. I think the full jars of pigment are priced very well. The vials, I suspect, wouldn't be worth the money. The other thing is that I couldn't imagine myself buying a vial alone. I like that they should come in sets. OR...better yet what if there was a vial palette of sorts, kind of like the Messmix from Cueberry:

You could build your own palette of pigments as you do with shadows.

I would love pigment vials becoming permanent! Although I doubt I would buy many full size pigments anymore.....
But a change of packaging would be like Christmas morning!
Everytime I try to stick a brush in there one or two of the hairs sticks out and drives my OCD up the wall!

As long as the full size jars are also offered. i can't switch to vials b/c the won't match the rest of my collection. I can't even allow myself to go for the holiday sets.

Totally agree. I think some how the vials would get way over priced..

I'm probably in the minority, but I love my full size pigments, and can't stand the vials. I just feel like vials and samples are a waste of money if you really like the color, you know?

I'm torn about this, because there are pros and cons to both vials and full-sized pigments - ultimately, though, I think I prefer the jars.

As mentioned, the vials are poorly designed. I have had a few MAC-cidents with spilling vials. The opening needs to be much wider! Because of that there are some from previous holiday sets I literally never touch.

For me, I may buy vials for some brighter colours that I know I wouldn't use a full jar of, but would want a full jar for most other colours, they just have better value.
