MAC - Flighty Discussion

I agree. I don't personally think that BB shadows are the worst that I have tried, but they are certainly not of the quality of MUFE aquacreams. If I didn't know about or have MUFE shadows, then I might give these an honest try. I plan on sticking with the MUFE shadows.

now i showed my hubby my blog pictures of these shadows (post will be up and out soon!) and he agreed that the purple was quite nice and had potential. but the green was not good at all. so yes maybe these are all hit and miss as others have said.

As an indication of how eager Mac is to get people to try these, when I went to my local store today, one of the MA's gave me a spatula and a half dozen sample pots and told me to take whatever I wanted. For certain these are not going down well... I'll give 'em a shot, but I can't even get them to swatch properly on my arm.

I thought about mixing some of the big bounce shadow with a matte pigment (MAC or non-MAC) to see if the product stiffens up a bit. the bb shadows have a cool mixing medium consistency. i don't think i would buy one to see, but i think i'll try to get a sample and report back.

I'll agree that some are better than others. I originally was going to get Trophy, but after seeing Luxury Touch I decided I needed that one more. And there was only 2 left. Sooo happy I got Luxury Touch and decided to give these shadows a try. I wore it with the elf primer, applied it with a 252, and added a little matching shadow on top and it lasted through the entire day. It even lasted through my Jillian Michaels workout.

Well, I tried them in a few different ways and in the end, I agree with those who say that they work as a base under shadows. All in all, though, they're pretty much a wash out as far as I'm concerned. You can see photos and descriptions of the different things I tried with three of them here:

It's disappointing, to say the least, because those colours are lovely and they have a really nice range. I just can't do much with them.

yeah Katred, thats how I felt. Plus, what is really bad - the 6 month shelf life (unless that is not true). That is not worth the money. I just bought 2 Laura Mercier eyeshadows that were similar in color (& even better) for just a little bit $$ over the BB shadows & I won't have to get rid of them in 6 months.

I was thinking about this as I was writing my recap and I really think that they were too eager to get something on the market in order to compete with everything else that's coming out, but they got too ambitious by trying to have a completely new formula and getting it out quickly... They probably should have just done a collection of pain pots with similar colours.
