MAC Matchmaster Foundation Discussion

I'll be trying this too. Although I am never satisfied with foundation. I can't remember the last liquid foundation I actually used a whole bottle of before moving on to something else. There are several I like, but nothing I actually LOVE. I try something and then ultimately go back to just concealer and MSFN...but who knows, maybe this will be HG status. So I'll try it.

I´ll give it a try.
As far as I´m concerned, I´m happy that there are neither NC nor NW shades, because my skin tone is neutral. MAC only does Studio Fix Powder and F&B im N shades, but the lightest are still too dark for me and I hate the separation of F&B, so mixing with white is not an Option.

I´m using NARS Sheer Glow and MUFE F&B right now, really happy with them, but I have to order them in England or France, because both companies neglect the german market

I doubt they will ever do that. There is simply no viable market for it, especially as foundations last so long and customers usually shop around and do not repurchase in the hope of finding an even better product. The F&B in White is a great mixing medium to lighten any foundation. Yes, it is a pain to mix up foundations, but you will probably end up with a better customized product than buying a foundation that is in stock. On the plus side, just celebrate your unique skintone, aka ultra porcelain beauty. :)
Hi was just thinking...would you recommend mixing f&b white with a studio sculpt foundation?

My SA was telling me about this formula today and seems very excited. She explained the way it works and it doesn't have anything in it that changes colour. It has coloured particles and then particles that reflect your skin's own colour.

I doubt I'll be able to wear it because of the ingredients but it's worth a sample and it sounds interesting.

Just a hint for everyone curious about the shade range:

I am a spot-on NC15 in pretty much every foundation; in summer I MIGHT get as far as an NC20, but usually I end up more of a mix between 15 and 20 (wish we had an NC17!). The MatchMaster 1.0 was surprisingly pale on me- by far! I can wear it, but need bronzer. I ended up mixing it with 3.0, using more 1.0 than 3.0- so I could easily wear both 1.5 and 2.0 interchangeably. For all you extra-fair lovelies, 1.0- and even 1.5- will work nicely! The coverage is buildable and slightly more matte than I prefer- but despite my textbook combination skin, I actually like some shine. I'd still happily wear this foundation, and just add some Magically Cool powder or Lustre Drops or... well, the list goes on, lol.

Hope that helps!

Good to know, thanks! I'm about an NC 17 myself, so I'm glad this foundation provides a few colour options.

Hmmm, color me intrigued. According to the chart I might be a 5.0 (yay, lucky number!) or a 6.0. Knowing my luck, I'll be right in between. >_> But, if they don't turn red or oompa-loompa orange like every MAC foundation I've ever tried, maaaybe it'll break my love of NARS Sheer Matte...if the new Chanel foundations doesn't do it.

If a Mac foundation doesn't break me out, then it turns orange on me. I thought the last one they put out(can't recall the name) was perfect until I snapped pictures. Hello, oompa-loompa. This foundation is interesting, though. I think I'd be a 6.0 because despite the MUA trying NC50 on me every single damn time, that is not my shade. I am lighter than that, but I am still not the next full shade down(NC43?). I'm in between. I am going to wait until the Chanel foundation comes out because I fear that even if this foundation maatches, it will break me out. Otherwise, I'll stick to the three Mufe foundations that match me. Hear that, Mac? Mufe got it right for me three times.

So this foundation in 1.0 is paler than NC15? Perfect, thanks for sharing the info! I must try this one.

Was the application okay, did you use a regular foundation brush or? And did it wear well during the day?

Do you know what ingredient breaks you out? Definitely get a large sample before you commit to it.

I know Bare Escentuals breaks me out because of the bismuth oxychloride. I'm not sure if Mac uses that. I guess I need to look into it. If they don't then that means there's something else I need to identify and stay away from. I can't use their MSF's either. ETA: I see that some skin products do use bismuth oxychloride so that explains it. For some reason I thought they used something else. I hope this new foundation doesn't include that ingredient.

Shontay, their foundations break me out too. What have you dound that works in the MUFE line.
HD, Face and Body and the Duo Mat powder foundation. I recently bought Duo Mat. I thought it would be too much for my dry skin, but it's great. It's actually my favorite of the three. No irritation at all.

This new foundation looks interesting. I might go in and take a look. However, I feel like I will fall between 6 and 7, the same way that I fall between NC45 and 50.
