My list before swatches is short cut a caper ls and the plummy msf ( really intrigued by this one). After swatches... I don`t want to think about lol

I think that's part of my hangup! They're about $30 here in the states and it's tough narrowing down which one I want, because I don't want a slew of YSL lippies. I will definitely check them out eventually, though!

I'm sooo intrigued by Venus lipstick. Yellow pink with pearls??? Where are the swatches!?
I really want Venus too, sounds pretty. I'm afraid Fire Sign might be off my list if it is the red in the promo pic --- too dark for me.

I've been trying to figure this out. I can only tell with cremesheen glasses, but my estimate is about 100 full applications all over my lips, with about one and a half charges on the applicator per application. I do usually wipe off my applicator with a tissue afterwards too, so make it 2 charges/application. I'd say I have medium sized lips, too, just for reference.
Hahaha, this reminds me of Tootsie Pops

hahaha! I know what you mean - it's SO anal to try and work it all out, but when it comes to my beloved CSGs, I use them so much, they're my #1 used-to-the-last-drop makeup item (other than simple stuff like powder and mascara). I want to back up less and move on with the CSG trends, so I went into calculation mode when I started to run out of GeoPink.

Okay, now I HAVE to pick up a few from HC - they sound amazing!

This is exactly why I've never backed anything up. There are some products I've bought over and over (a couple of HG lippies, for instance), but they're perm and if they suddenly went away I'm sure I'd find another great substitute.

As for the LEs, I'm just starting to get into those. If I've had no trouble finding tons of stuff to buy this year, why would next year be any different? I'm loving Star Quality this year, but it's not a core colour to me. When it's gone, I'll be happy to try something new. I'm enjoying Sail La Vie whether I wear it full freight or tone it down slightly with a liner and l/g. If and when I finish it, I'll be more than ready to move on to the next great orange.

I'm also wary of having to toss brand new items simply because I didn't get to them quickly enough. I've got about 14 lippies and 6-7 l/g in use right now; there are a bunch that I won't wear again until fall but even at that there's no way I'll get through all the ones in my summer rotation. Maybe a l/g or two. Maybe. I didn't buy Riviera Life or Send Me Sailing because I wouldn't have opened them this summer anyway. I like them, but I'm sure there will be others I'll like next year just as much and they'll be 'fresher'.

My fave perm ones are Fashion Scoop and Richer Lusher, but something I've noticed with MAC is they seem to take chances with the LE CSGs and offer them up in the richest and most fashion forward colors for nearly every season.

Last year, I wore GeoPink and Looks Like Sin to death, for example. This year's been even better, with Narcissus, Color Saturation and Star Quality so far. I find that even the LE neutrals have an extra edge of sophistication and tailoring to this year's trends, like Japanese Spring and Private Screening, or You've Got It and On the Scene from a couple years back.

My current attitude about CSGs is that I will back up a lot less, but I will still wear my favorite LEs until they run out, because next year the new crop of colors will be even more beautiful and au courant. So what if I run out of GeoPink, because Meteoric will totally trump it, and so on! I'm a huge fan of CSGs - perfect for slapping on when you're running out of the house or for layering over lipsticks for a jewel-like finish fit for a queen.

Very good points. I backing up stuff that will be long time staples. Like the Runaway red. Red will never go out of style and it took me years to find my perfect one.

Its bn so long since I last logged into Specktra!! I've missed my Specktrette ladies. Had to take a hiatus from makeup since I had a NY trip back in Nov/Dec and went a little shopping crazy (I think I spent $500 on Mac and Sephora whilst I was there.

So I've had a lot of bills to pay off. I refused to log into Specktra knowing I'd be pulled in with the new Mac collections. Hahah, but I feel like I have a little more self-control now as I'm engaged!

DB proposed in Jan so I'm super excited! The wedding is slated to be the end of March 2013 as we need to save money for a whole bunch of things. So I can't go as crazy with Mac as before (at least I hope not).

This collection looks amazing! My last Mac haul was from SP last fall so I guess I'm back just in time for the next mineralize collection. Wish the swatches would appear though because just reading the color story is making me jump up and down. Alright, so the calm me is saying to only get 3-4 items and not go overboard. My pre-swatch list is:
Venus l/s
Earthshine msf
Center of the universe msf
Star wonder msf
Stratus mb
Solar ray mb
Supernova mb

That's what I was thinking when I BUd Red Racer last week (it's my first BU for a l/s). Otherwise, I've been telling myself I don't need BUs. In fact, Narcissus and Nubile are the only items I have BUd since some BUs in 2009!

Good to have ya back

I too should go on a hiatus as money is really tight, but coming here helps me relax :) I just told myself to take it easy on the collections this year (April killed my wallet with all the amazing collections that came out so that doesnt count lol). I'm really really trying to go on a no-buy until this collection, but its hard!
