I didn't get the bookmark (

), but I did get the skincare samples today. I'm glad I'm still on their mailing list. Not sure if I'm on the snow globe list, though.

I picked up the Black shadow stick today. I still think I want to get the gold and the blue so that I have all of them. We'll see. BTW I stopped by the Deborah Lippmann area and the SA there asked which nail polish I was wearing. "Is it Chanel?" she asked. It was Bel-Argus. I was so surprised she recognized it, it was all faded and chipped. I meant to take it off but I was running late this morning. She did recommend the duochromes in the Deborah Lippmann line, of course!

After having looked at the collection a few times, I think I'll get a couple of the polishes only. I strongly feel like I'd have a reaction to the shadow pens, as I do to almost every cream formula and I don't think I'd use the mascara that often. One of my counters was doing makeovers today, which was kind of tempting as an experiment, but I didn't have time to indulge. I definitely think I'd like to get those colours done for me as a one-time thing, just to see how they looked.

Yes the Holidays mascaras ( LE I guess ), they have a thick brush and they cost 7 - 8 € each. To me they are quite good but the best is the Arcancil waterproof ones, long brush. The Bourjois ones are funny, the Arcancil in blue is very impressive indeed ( 11 € I think ).
I got the Bourgois Holidays mascara in Green Lagoon after reading this. The brush is very thick but I managed to apply both my top and bottom lashes. I don't have Arcancil here. From the Chanel counter, I picked up Azure, Bel-Argus, Blue Note mascara, Blue Bay eyeshadow and True Blue eyeliner. I may pick up Aqua Blue mascara if I like True Blue, and Lilis. Lilies is beautiful, just like the picture elegant put up earlier on.

The only thing I can think of that may have put me on their mailing list is that I bought something through a Chanel boutique. I've actually purchased less from Chanel's website this year compared to last year, so I'm not sure if it has to do with buying stuff online or how much you actually spend. I think buying from the boutique automatically adds you into their system.

However, it is my understanding that you're first purchase from a boutique must be in person. After that, you're in the system and can order from any boutique over the phone. I didn't order anything fancy. Just a nail polish. Tendresse was available on their website, but disappeared. I contacted customer service to see where I could find one and was directed to a boutique. I called the boutique and was told I had to visit one to buy the polish since I wasn't in their system. The SA told me of one in my area, which I had no clue existed. I went to the boutique, got signed up, and ordered the polish. Voila, I start getting little gifts in the mail. I am thinking that maybe the gift you get is determined by how much you spend as I didn't get the bookmark.

Great haul ! Yes the Bourjois brush is very thick but on the whole it's a good mascara LE well it would be great if it was permanent I think !

Any word on whether they will make the eyeshadows permanent? Because I want to wear Moon River every single day since I bought it, and I think I need a back-up!

I finally get my quad tomorrow and can't wait to wear it. I did a look with the shadow sticks today and I am still unsure on whether I like these or not. I did a look with the jade one all over the lid with Smashbox cream shadow in Neptune in the crease and at the outer corner and with the Chanel True Blue liner on the bottom lash line. It was so pretty. However it did not last at all. I use Benefit Lemon Aid primer which usually does a great job but not with these. I think the shadow sticks need to be patted on as opposed to swept on. I notice that they really sheer out to nothing but glitter with very little blending. Next time I am going to try it over Pixie Epoxy and set it with MAC Zestful EDES and see if that helps.

I have started using the shadow sticks as a base color. When I sweep them on, the application is too heavy looking. When I try patting and blending, the application is too light but will work as a base color. I am more a fan of the IdO, Armani's ETK, and TF cream eyeshadows than these. But live and learn I suppose.

My quad should be arriving today. Fingers crossed that I like it.

I sweep the shadow stick on my entire lid and I blend lightly at the crease. Then, I put a powder shadow through the crease. I always wear the shadow stick alone. It really looks good once you complete your look. That's my experience with Jade Shore anyway. I do prefer the illusion d'ombre's though. Also, how hilarious that I bought Jade Shore and then scooped up the new MUFE aqua eyes that's so similar that having both isn't entirely necessary. By hilarious I mean tragic.

The eyeshadow sticks look great but I'll pass. As you said, the Illusions d'Ombre are a must-have, the sticks are perfect for summer days ( in my opinion ).

I am more a fan of the IdO as well. Plus on my skin I find the shadow sticks are harder to blend than the crème shadows.
