maybe you need to change your skincare ?
Yup, and I have actually had to dramatically change it over the last year or so... when my skin went from being lifelong oily/acne prone to now being oily/acne prone AND really flaky/sensitive with rosacea, largely due to my age (42) and issues associated with hormonal aging! Such a pain. I think I've found a good combo of products to deal with all of my skin issues (I used to be an esthetician actually) without aggravating any of it... it's been a lot of trial and error. I think a large part of the problem is that the older I get, the less foundation and powder etc. look good on my skin. I keep trying to find an HG product but I think I need to accept that less is more at my age, esp after all that my skin has been through. But I will keep working with this new foundation for a while to see if I can get it to work... if not, back she goes.

Yeah, I'm not sure about this foundation y'all. NC45 definitely too orange, but nc44 seemed ok. It just seems to sit on top of my skin. Anyone else feel tha tway.

I also agree, this is Smashbox BB Water Foundation, same packaging, same applicator.

Yup, me too... it was just... sitting there. Or something. It did not look blended, and I only used a tiny amount and thought I had blended it in very well. I was surprised at how visible it was on my skin after a while (not on first application though, when it looked okay). Definitely no 'second skin' effect for me.

Lorac is one that I have not yet tried - thanks for mentioning it! I'm in Canada and my local Sephora doesn't carry Lorac anymore, but I will look into it online.

I tried the silicone-free primer by Becca, but it was way too mattifying... I couldn't spread any product over top of it to save my life. I think I tried Cover FX's silicone-free primer but it may have also been formulated for acne-prone skin and other ingredients in there irritated my skin. I recently tried the Smashbox Water Primer too but didn't notice any difference whatsoever. Hmmm... any other products either of you would recommend? Thank you! Really, the only foundation that looks decent on my skin and has good staying power is Revlon Color Stay Whipped... I may just have to stick with that and stop trying to find find a more expensive foundation. For some reason I am reluctant to accept that a drugstore foundation works best on my skin

I heard good things about the too faced hangover primer which is silicone free as far as I know and more natural oils/hydration in it which usually are better for sensitive skin probably better so than the smashbox water primer which I heard is not good anyway but as I said have not tried it yet. I'm still on the hunt for a good primer without all those silicones and parabens etc :/

have you tried regular mineralized powder foundations? that only contains minerals except bismuth? I feel like my skin at least gets better with that and a regular good perfume free moisturizer under instead of primer.

Is this foundation comparable to Perricone MD No Foundation Foundation Serum? I honestly LOVE that foundation, it's thin, covers well, keeps me matte the longest and to top it off, it only comes in one color and it matches me perfectly.

..if this MAC one does the same job, I will pick it up and it's must cheaper than $60 price tag Perricone MD has..

I don't know about oily skin, but Karen - who has a combination skin I think - recommended MSFN with this foundation. It works well with my dry skin, too.

I'm wearing a shade darker now, and I think I like this one more. NC20 looked kind of too pale on me now.

My MA said she hasn't figured out how to work this with oily skin yet. Maybe it's not a good formula for oilier complexions.

I really like this foundation, but I would agree that this may not be a hit with oilier skin types. I'm not that oily (dry cheeks, oily t-zone) but it's enough that I'm definitely putting this away until the winter.

Ugh this is so frustrating. I'm super dry and I'd love to try this but NW13 is too dark for me. MAC, please put out a lighter shade!

I got mine today! I usually wear NC35 so I ordered this shade without seeing it in person.. oh boy it's orange!! I think I'll be able to wear it with a drop of MUFE Blue Chromatic Mix, but I wish I didn't need to do that.

I'm oily and acne prone but I love this foundation! I use the yellow cc cream prep and prime and apply with a flat top dense brush and use my fingers to tap it into my skin after before setting with my MSFN dupe, the Covergirl advanced radiance powder. It lasts all day on me and only have to slightly blot my nose after about 7 hrs :) the beauty of this formula is that the longer you wear it, the better it looks bc it's so skin like and dewy :) normally, all my longwear foundations wear off around my nose and chin after a few hours so I was very surprised that this doesn't break up or wear off on me! My MA said she hasn't figured out how to work this with oily skin yet. Maybe it's not a good formula for oilier complexions. [/quote]

Dang, I feel like Nordies just pulled a Macy's on me. I ordered the new MAC 196 brush and another 210 eye liner brush. Everything said it would be expected delivery on 9/26-9/30 with free shipping. I got my confirmation email, and it says the whole order is being delayed. CS is trying to tell me that my order will ship by 10/10 because it's going to ship from a store 6 hours from me. It didn't say anywhere that my items were backordered when I bought them. What a mess! lol!

ETA: I had them cancel the 210 and it brought the estimated deliver time up to 9/29. Hopefully that's just an over-estimation! I really want to try the 196. :)

I tried to order the 196 brush last Wednesday and it was SO online. I called around to all the stores near me and only one store had it and they only had 2 in stock. Hopefully, they'll be able to get it from a store. I was surprised that it was SO but I guess since they had triple points, a lot of people took advantage of it. Good luck! It's a really nice brush and it works great with the foundation.

It's being fulfilled from Wellington, FL. :) I almost cancelled and placed an oder from mac's website because I'll get it SOOO much faster. Good thing I remembered it was still triple points!!

out of topic but I really wish mac had a customer/membership club thing (that is not their pro membership) on their own websites and stand-alone stores
