Guerlain discussion

Funny, I did a piece on my blog a while back talking about the strengths and weaknesses of various brands and the one thing I said Guerlain should work on was their blushes. Glad to know that they took my advice to heart.

It's funny that they're introducing the "Extrait" just as CHanel have discontinued their Rouge Allure Laques. It's like they're filling the void left in my heart.

Honestly, everything hear looks beautiful and sort of timeless. Guerlain is certainly liking the pink/ rose shades for eyes. Looks like they'll have another quad in that colour family for Fall.
The RALs are still available at my counters. Not sure when or whether Chanel will discontinue them. The Aqualumiere glosses are still available too. I agree on Guerlain liking thethe pink/rose shade on eyes.

Has anyone tried Guerlain's skincare products? I have tried just a few samples only, and they seem to be very good. I'm not sure what they are good at/specialise in.

I have also tried samples but nothing impressed me. I prefer to use more simple natural products without parabens etc for my skincare or scientifically proven ingrediences and Guerlain so far hasn't shown me anything like that. If I would spend so much $$ on skincare that would definitelly have to be top of the line products. I did like Chanel's eyecrem better than Guerlains.

Guerlain skincare products are very expensive and... not so effective I think ! I am not a fan of Guerlain skincare or make-up, the Abeille Royale cream and other products are good though.
I would advise Estée Lauder for skincare and of course you know better than me ! I really love Lauder skincare ( Time Zone, DayWear, Renutriv etc.. ), to me it's the best ! La Prairie is excellent but very expensive too. A smart moisturizer is Benefit cream ( 32 € here ), but if you want to start with Guerlain I suggest Abeille Royale.

They're still being phased out up here, too (both the RALs and the Aqualumiere glosses). I think the complete discontinuation was only in the US, whereas other countries have been selling through stock. They're no longer on the Canadian web site (which is informational only).

I've tried samples of Guerlain skin products for a few weeks at a time and they're nice, but honestly, I think you can get products that are equally nice for less money. I also find that they're very heavily perfumed, which is generally a turn off for me. In all honesty, I tend to get skin care products from non-prestige brands, because I find they're more effective at a lesser price. My current favourites are Korres and Nuxe.

The fall collection is wodnerful.

I worry about my wallet when I see so many blushes.
The lippies do not excite me yet, I am far from fall mood, but I am very curious about the eyeshadow quad, the russian description says it is pink-red. So far I have really steped out of my comfort zone with Guerlain seasonal quads (Les Roses, Les Aquas, Capri) and have been loving it, so this is the item I am anticipating the most, I want to see picture of it already!!!!

What you think, the colors in the quad will be? Les Fauves means wild animals. I am thinking maybe beige, light pink, reddish and taupe brown??

I ordered the Terra Solaia Powder mentioned (and pictured) in the link Naynadine posted above. I'm so psyched about it! Should be here tomorrow!

It's pretty but it's always the same story with Guerlain : no real artistic direction. Except the beautiful G Lipsticks ( gorgeous really ) the duo blush and the quad have nothing special. It's better than other Guerlain collections but I prefer Chanel, Nars or Dior as usual.

Swatches of two of the new Rouge G creams. Seem like they are matte, so maybe finally I can wear matte lippies without drying out my lips.

Where did you order it from? I thought somebody said it was a Sephora exclusive. Does anyone know where it will be available from in the UK? Thanks.

Here's a swatch of the bronzer. I think the gold is an overspray.

Anneri - please share how you like it when you get it :)

Someone from another forum got the answer directly from Guerlain that it will be Sephora exclusive, but a couple of days ago it popped up on the Douglas site, which is kind of 'the German Sephora'' I guess. So I would think it's exclusively sold in some department store in the UK too. Maybe Harrods?

My bronzer is still at the post office but hopefully I'll get it today. As tomorrow is a bank holiday I'll have swatches and pics for you all tomorrow!

Anitacska, like Naynadine said, I ordered it via Douglas online - I thought it would be an online exclusive worldwide, but in the link Pippa posted there's a bit about counters, so maybe it wouldn't hurt to check with your local Guerlain counter?

^ Thank you! I actually ordered it form Sephora (France) last night because I had a 20% off code and I ordered a couple of other things as well to make use of the pricey shipping cost. Can't wait to receive it. :)

If anyone knows with which scent the Terra Solaia Bronzer is scented, please let me know! I could bathe in that scent and I believe it's not their usual violet scent.
