MAC - MAC Me Over Discussion

I think when Christine first posted the info about MMO, it was preliminary information and not necessarily the press release from MAC. She might make some adjustments, but I think the colors look better (and darker) than anticipated. Fall, here we come.

I didn't say Mcqueen invented the "guy-liner look" As soon as I saw the model I instantly thought of that runway show! The clothes, make-up (though Mcqueens models had perfect contouring)

Wasn't black eyeliner for men started/mastered by punk bands in the 70's?! have you seen this interview with Mike Ness? classic! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92AoGbP8K9Q

Let's not forget about Bowie...

I do not consider McQueen the inventor for the guyliner look. If you go back to the mid-90s, you will see that guyliner has already been around then. It started with the "heroin chic" look for women - characterized by dark circles underneath the eyes, jutting bones, and very pale skin - a look that was soon adopted for male models, especially as the late 90s were rather androgen. Boots, the British drugstore brand - following the JPG hype - had even introduced a guyliner and guy-mascara at some point in the early 2000s - not sure these products are still around today; some of the "Brits" on here might know better, but I remember it was instantly sold out when it was first released on Boots in London's Oxford Street.
IMO, the guyliner is a rather "safe" runway look, which has returned to the runway a tad too often. Having said that, I still want these e/s - I hope it's Carbonized and Moleskin.

Katred, I think the larger product picture might be more correct in terms of colors than the product collection picture. It was similar to SB, where the collection picture also featured the blushettes. Oh what would I have done to get my hands on one of those :) It makes sense that the quad has now a darker crease color.

From the initial descriptions, I was imagining Avenue to look like Blitz & Glitz, but the photos make it look way more interesting. I'm looking forward to swatches

Apologies, I did not mean to lash out

All I meant is that this look is not particularly new.

Chiristine has just mixed Offshoot and Oh, Oh, Oh.

...That may be so, but they still don't look like their descriptions. Oh Oh Oh looks straight-up brown, and Offshoot looks more plum-red than neutral pink. Ah well, best to wait for swatches.

Thanks for the link. Tt the moment, the bios are more interesting than the products. None of them really stand out except for maybe the dark lippies and the quads. This should make it less of a hassle to order the products.

The whole these-are-real-people-look-how-fabulous-they-look seems kind of gimmicky to me, but I'm loving the colours. Can't wait for the launch!

Thanks for the link. Makes more sense. So it's divided into 3 parts.

This is going to be an expensive haul for me *sigh*

What's on your wishlist?

For now, I'm just lemming Carbonized, Mythical, and Moleskin e/s and Equilibrium blush. I hope I can stay away from Stunner. It's pretty, but it looks like any coral blush, but I'm afraid, I might get it for the name :)

I can't wait for swatches. My cakeshop looks nothing like the one in the promo pic. It doesn't have the yellow tone seen in the promo pic so I'm wondering what other colors might be a bit off.

We have official promo and product pics! http://www.temptalia.com/mac-mac-me-over-collection-fall-2011#more-30682
I just want to know why the quads are $38 instead of $36 and the individual shadows are $15.

Urgh, I didn't even looks at prices. It seems that MAC adds a dollar or two to every collection, even if it's not special packaging. Posh Paradise has also higher prices.
