I already worn Mythic a few times as I have the test card. It is not pinky nude, there is no pink in it. It is not warm either, just a perfect neutral nude for me. It looks ashy in the tube but on my lips it's not.

Does anyone love the JC rose scent? I personally love the smell of a new JC.

The scent fades after a while and becomes hardly noticeable.

Oooh, aahh. How is "Pop"? Lemming it......

Re: Chanel Discussion & Must Haves

Thanks so much for posting your skincare routing Elegant! When I first saw your picture I seriously thought you were in your 30s - you look fantastic!

Do you use the Ultra Correction Lift serum? I noticed on the website there is a "line repair" Ultra Correction serum as well. And the eye cream is the "Lift" one as well? I feel like I could use a serum for under my Hydramax, especially in the winter. My skins seems to be getting drier and drier as I get older. Not sure if the Ultra Correction line is appropriate for my age (24). I may try the Hydramax serum. I think maybe it comes in the new "Nutrition" version too?

I am using the Beaute Initiale eye cream in the mornings, which I like. However, I don't wear it at night because it has SPF in it and I've heard you shouldn't wear that at night. I noticed on the website that Chanel has an anti-dark circle eye roller. I wonder what that is like? That is my main problem around my eyes at this point.

I have dry-ish skin, but I do feel like my pores get pretty clogged. I am currently using the mousse cleanser, but maybe next time I will look into the Purete line. I just automatically assumed it would dry my skin out big time. I use the same exfoliator as you do. I thought maybe I needed to get a stronger exfoliator to clean out my pores, but maybe the Purete toner and cleanser is the answer. So you don't find it too drying? Or is it drying but your serum and moisturizer balance it out? Chanel skincare lasts so long though that I will probably have my mousse cleanser for about a year!

I'm finding that the UV Essential is a bit drying for me, but I still love it. It is really mattifying. If you have oily skin, this is your dream come true! I don't wear foundation, only powder, but I feel like I have to wear way less when I use this because it is so mattifying. I'm pretty good about wearing sunscreen on my face and neck, but not as diligent with the rest of my body!

You guys are all totally making my want Mythic now! I also want Rose Petale, but I think I might wait for the pink blushes coming with the fall collection. The really bright pink one looks amazing (thanks for the sneak peek comments Shypo!). For now, I think I may need to get Imprevu!

They recommend the above for more oily skin which I don't really have, but It really keeps the pores clean imo.

Maybe I will try using the toner with my mousse cleanser. How come you use the toner before washing? I thought generally toner is used in between washing and moisturizing? Do you feel like the toner would provide pore cleansing without having the gel cleanser in conjunction with it? Hopefully I can get a sample of this next time I am at the counter.

I use either Dr. Denese neck cream, or one from Bare Escentuals - I like both. For my eyes, I've been recently using the Clarisonic Opal (with its included serum - eye area only) and Bobbi Brown's eye balm. When that is gone, I'll probably find something else to use - maybe Chanel? For my sunscreen, I use Neutrogena Age Shield Face SPF 90.

I decided last night to splurge on the Ultra Correction Lift serum, and will likely pick up the Hydramax cream today......quite an investment, but I'm hoping for great results!

I've used the Philosophy cleanser as well and I did really like it. I would say I like Philosophy products second best (first being Chanel!) over anything else I've tried. I liked their moisturizer and eye cream too, but I guess not enough to repurchase (I just bought the smaller sized bottles so they didn't last that long). Let us know how you like the Ultra Correction Lift serum and the Hydramax! Did you get the new Nutrition one?

I am think I will need to pick this up closer to winter time. I have tried a sample of it in the past and really liked it. All the girls at the counter seem to rave about it too!

DITTO! Thanks so much for the link.

Definitely interested in the quad, a few glossimers and one or more of the JCs.

Away for a few days and so much to catch up on in this thread!

When I got home my Dreams quad had arrived & I love it! Thanks to Hypathya for the encouragement on that one!

ETA: I think this is one time I'm glad I need to stick to a very limited list of tried and true skincare items due to my hypersensitive/rosacea skin because I see I could otherwise spend a fortune on Chanel! lol

Only problem is, a lot of gel cleansers can really make my skin feel tight... how do you feel after using gel purite?

Oh my dear - anything for you guys!

I do not find it to be drying at all. But, I remember Msrazz tried the green toner & thought it made her skin feel a little tight. I don't.
Honestly, I think because its clearing the pores, thats why my face stopped breaking out.

!

I do use the toner in between washing, or if my skin doesn't feel clean like after I've been digging around my plants outside
smiles.gif
Using it to take my makeup off before cleanser was just something I started doing
th_dunno.gif
then I realized that in using the toner first to take my makeup off, then using the cleanser, it really made my skin feel clean.

Yes, the Ultra Correction Serum not line repair, & then the UC Lift for lip & eye & the Hydramax Nutritive. Seriously, my skin used to be insane dry especially in the winter. I did use the Beaute Initiale & it was nice, but my skin liked the Hydramax better. I think sometimes you have to switch around product to see what continually works best.

Thanks - you are so sweet! I'm glad your posting here!

Elegant, thank you so much about all the skin care tips. I really need to be careful about the sun bathing. I like the exotic look though
ssad.gif
after years of fake tanning I decided that was bad for me and stopped. I've been toying with the idea of going back to tanning beds this year but reading ur post make me think twice

Hey everyone! Yes, I did do some shopping today - got In Love JC - apparently it's sold out in a lot of locations (or at least the first few I checked) but I ended up finding it at Nordstrom. I got a couple of samples of the Hydramax Active - but for some reason I'm not finding the '+ Nutrition'.....not sure why. I find the Chanel skin care lines very overwhelming, and easy to confuse, but that's just me. I'm not sure if Nordstrom just doesn't have the + Nutrition yet or what, but I'll keep looking.

When To the Beach launches I will pick up the full size of the Hydramax cream I guess...I have enough of the samples to last me a couple of weeks.

Oh, and speaking of TTB (I know, off-topic) - I saw all of the colors today - oh, they are so pretty!! Can't wait to pick these up!! I'll be getting Sweet and Punchy (the lightest green) and Firecracker is awesome!! Love it! The lone matte color, Sand and Sun, is ok - it did not swatch very well for me.

In terms of the lippees, I'm getting all three of the lipglasses, but I have to say that Splashing and Flurry of Fun are just gorgeous!!

Guess I need to show my MAC stuff some love - Chanel has had my attention for the last few weeks!

Thats weird about the Nutritive as its new. I was hoping you could get a sample of it. This guy gave me a big clear cup of it before I bought it - looked like mayo
lol.gif

I agree on chanels lines being a lil confusing - it took me a looong time to figure out certain products.

Why doesn't Neiman Marcus have all the blush colors? The Nordies I went to had a lot if In Love & no Rose Petale
th_dunno.gif

Sun & Sand did not show up good on my hand but great on my eyes
th_dunno.gif
I agree the glosses are fab. Love splashing!

I feel like I need to grow another head just to use all my makeup

Too funny! Yes, me too!!! I am going to get S&S anyway, as sometimes I like an almost-invisible color as a base......and yes, Splashing is so pretty! Almost a dazzleglass in its finish.......

I don't know why the different stores carry such varied stock - it's very strange.

I'm going to make sure my fave MUA holds the new summer and fall stuff for me - I am so looking forward to those new blush and glossimer colors I can hardly stand it! With any luck it will only be a few more weeks!

I went by a counter today to swatch the Bleu Celeste quad, but it wasn't there.

It should be available since it's on the Canadian site, so it's not one of the "US only" shades. So I'm going to try a larger counter tomorrow. If not, oh well.

I want all of the TTB lipglasses, too. I saw swatches of the light pink l/s and I probably don't need it (since I have many in that shade). I do want the light pink lipliner, too.

Tonight's the first time using the UCL serum and Hydramax Active (apparently I did get the sample of the new + Nutrition one - based on what I checked out on the Chanel site - the one I got is in the white jar with the black lid, and the cream itself is white. I think the 'other' Hydramax Active looks like it's green or blue or something on the Chanel site).

So far I like the way my skin feels - like it's hydrated and 'smooshy', by which I guess I mean 'pliable' and soft. It feels good, but I'll see how I do overnight, and over the next few days. My skin is sensitive, and I hope I don't end up breaking out....sometimes that happens when I change products (which I don't do very often).

I'll continue to let you know how I progress

Oh, and I was a naughty girl again

(is anyone here REALLY surprised?) and checked out the JCs that are available on Strawberrynet......ended up ordering Narcisse and Reflex. Couldn't help myself - they just jumped in my cart. I guess because I was bummed they didn't have the Dreams quad....which I wish I could find.......(but not on ebay).......

Here is a post where Karen swatched this quad:
Chanel Aurora Blues Spring 2008 Makeup Swatches and Face of the Day: Makeup and Beauty Blog: Makeup Reviews, Beauty Tips and Drugstore Beauty Finds
If you scroll down, you'll see the swatches on her arm. The swatches didn't wow me at first, but when I saw how the darkest shade applied wet looked -- LOVE. And I love the lip colours she used in her look, too!

And this look of hers made me want to get the Winter Nights quad too!!:

I'm hoping to get all of you fabulous ladies' opinion on something here...
So I'm heading to my Chanel counter possibly tomorrow, and I'm looking to get a perfect summer coral lipstick. The first one that comes to mind is the Rouge Allure in Genial. What do you think? Are there any other colors I should consider? Or should I just go with Genial since it's super gorgeous?
I'm new to the Chanel brand so any advice would be greatly appreciated!! Thanks so much!!

Others I can suggest are Rouge Coco Teheran - salmony coral (didn't see this IRL) and Sari Dore - orangey coral.
