Chanel Foundations & Concealers

That's weird because my Chanel SA said she had tried the new Aqua and that it did have a shade light enough for me because she said she was really fair too. Weird? I'm not sure when it's available in the US but I'm thinking soon since they had it to try?

^ I'm not sure, maybe it oxidizes easily in warmer climates? It might work differently if the weather is cooler.

The lightest shade we have here is BR20 and it is a pink foundation. The lighest yellow-based one is B30 and really dark. I hope you guys get more colours to choose from.

I have given up on Chanel foundations.

Chanel Vitalumiere 25 Petale Urgent!

Hi..

This might be a stupid question but is Chanel Vitalumiere '25 Petale" the shade between "20 Clair" and "30 Cendre". Im from Ireland and we do not have shade 25 Petale here and as I always have to mix 20 and 30 together to get my perfect match Im hoping 25 could be the answer to my prayers! I found shade 25 petale on ebay and bidding ends in 2hrs so I'm in need of help quick :)

Thanks in advance

I tried BR20 and B020 my my lower cheeks/jaw today and surprisingly, both blended into my skin. On my back of my hand, B020 is much more yellow and lighter, B20 is darker, like I have a tan like you said, and BR20 is more pink but lighter than B20. I finally got a sample of B20 so I can try it with my full makeup. Something I found to be a turnoff: you have to shake the bottle very well before squeezing out the foundation, otherwise you get a lot of oil. That must be the mineral oil that is present in the new light coverage foundation. But the finish is beautiful, so I may purchase B020.

The lightest shade we have are B10 and BR10.

Guess what I found yesterday at the duty free section? The foundation in B10

And you are right, it seems you really have to shake it well, otherwise all you get is transparent liquid.

^^ That's great! Did you try it?

Not yet, I left it in the sealed bag so I make it through security with it. Hope it give it a try this weekend.
How are you liking yours? Are you setting it with any powder btw? If so, which one are you using?
And I hope it's a bit transfer resistant.

I wore B20 for about 6 hours today and it didn't slide. It feels more fluid than Teint Innonence liquid. Next week I will try it for 10 to 12 hours. It goes on slightly too dark for me, but it wasn't very obvious. I set it with Chanel Poudre Universelle Libre in 20, as I do with all my liquid foundation. I like the loose powder as it doesn't alter the foundation/my skin colour. The scent of Vitalumiere Aqua isn't very strong and fades as I spread it out with my brush. I should swatch B10 and BO20 to see which is lighter.

I wore B10 twice already, one about 6h and the second day all day long. Unfortunately I do not have a lot of experience with foundation, but I do love how it wear and feels. It does not seem to be too noticeable as my bf did not identify it as foundation (and he as a very keen eye for it) and said that I looked glowy.
Set it with MSFN and it did not transfer.

The first time I applied it with a sponge and this was a total disaster, the sponge soaked up all the product. Yesterday I applied it with a foundation brush and it went on better.
I cannot comment on the coverage, all I need it to do is cover some redness on my cheeks I have during winter and it does that. Apart from that I would call it light coverage as I do not see any difference before and after.
You really need to shake the bottle very well, otherwise the product separates. Even with a lot of shaking it does not come out very homogenous. I just feel that I am using a lot of product not even for all my face. The smell is very prominent (and annoying), but as MissQQ already said it does not linger a long time.

All in all I am very happy with it so far, but like I said, I cannot compare it to other foundations.

I haven't try Mat Lumiere before but my friend recently purchased it. She has combination skin, which is oily on the T-zone but has dry cheeks. My skin is dry too so I won't buy mat Lumeiere. I've tried Pro Lumiere (got a mini sample tube which lasts quite a few uses) and I love it. It looks great in photos, so I save it for occasions where I will be photographed. I've tried Vitalumiere too, which is more creamy than Vitalumiere Aqua, but both Vitalumieres feel more moist than other foundations.

ok guys so I'm a bit confused. The Vitalumiere Aqua is rated pretty high on MUA and I def wanna try it. But how is it not out yet and ppl have rated it? Is it out in Europe or something already? Does anyone know when it will be available in Canada?

I have issues with Chanel colour range as well. I'm in between 20 and 30 most of the year but none are quite right. Though in the dead of winter I'm 20 in Teint Innocense. I hope i have more luck with this foundation. I do like the glowy finish i see in description

^^ It has been available here (Asia) since two months ago. I'm 20 for fluid TI too, but B20 Vitalumiere Aqua is darker than TI, and it looks a bit too dark for me. But perhaps the coverage is light, the mismatch colour doesn't appear too bad on me. Maybe B20 will match you. Try to get a sample. I'm hoping to get a sample of BO20 to try. It appeared very light but more yellow than B10 when I swatched it.

I will def try it as soon as it's out in Canada. I'm pretty neutral toned (not too pink or too yellow) so I hope it will work for me :)

After wearing the foundation some more I have to admit that I lovelovelovelovelove the new Vitalumiére Aqua foundation  My bf did not notice me wearing it and commented on my glowing skin. Normally he has a very good eye for it when I am wearing foundation (and blush for that matter). One point. I applied it the day before yesterday with a MAC 131 and it looked gorgeous. It keeps my skin looking like skin and not like something is sitting on top. It did not give my skin this bronzey tint that I normally get when wearing most foundations. Three points. Removes easily as well. One point. Feels invisible and like it's not even there once it's on and has this amazing finish, very glowy but not like someone took some bacon and rubbed it in your face. It reminds me a bit of the effect of MSFN if that makes any sense. Satiny, I suppose. To points. Applies and blends like a dream. I thought I was using the wrong brushes so far, but it just melts in your skin. You could probably apply it with a spoon and make it would look good. One point. The packaging sucks and you end up with product all over the nuzzle and the cap. Minus one point. You have to shaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaake the bottle really well to mix the foundation and get it even enough to apply. I suggest you do that with alternating arms every time you do it, otherwise you might end up with a tennisaehmfoundation arm ;) . Zero point (at least you get some workout). Not 100% happy with the colour, but it still works as it blends so perfectly. At least that's what I am telling myself. My bf didn't notice it, so all is well. The smell is much more intense than I like in my products, but like MissQQ already said it does not linger. Did I mention that I love it? I am not sure I did. I seriously do, it's the kind of foundation I have been looking for, light coverage to even out the redness in winter, easy to apply and does not look obvious and make your skin look weird. Supernatural. You really cannot see that I am wearing it, except on the freckles on my nose. I will make some half-half tests with the MAC Mineralize foundation and the NARS Sheer Glow and let the bf decide which one looks best/most natural on me. But the Vitalumiére Aqua was definitely a great buy. Sorry for rambling. Btw, I have dry and sensitive skin. Not thrilled with all this silicone in the foundation, but it still is a great product. Below are some swatches I tried to do, maybe they help somebody. Excuse the messy swatches, I tried it for the first time. Comparison between the different Vitalumiére Aqua, MAC Mineralize foundation and NARS Sheer Glow. MissQQ, what do you think so far? Do you still like it? And was the other colour better?

Fantastic review! Thanks so much esp for posting the ingredients. I'd love to try it but the alcohol makes it a no go for my skin. Bummer.
