MAC - Surf Baby Discussion

WHY oh WHY did I take my arse into MAC today???
I was supposed to ONLY get Hibiscus and My Paradise (which were on hold for me), but I wanted to swatch the shadows and pigments stacks to be sure. I ended up blowing my budget and adding Surf USA and Surf the Ocean. Surf USA is a nice teal as everyone has already stated, but Surf the Ocean TOTALLY ROCKS!!! I tried to convince myself and say that I could dupe the colors or I would just get samples BUT after the first swatch it was pure love!
These things are butter smooth and you only need a tiny bit for full, opaque awesomeness! I have attached some swatches for you all but my EVO doesn't do these colors justice. I got there 1 hour after opening and My Paradise was sold out. Some wench had come in and bought 4.
The swatches of the pigment stack were taken by just dipping my fingertip into the residue on the little plastic cap of each color. I applaud you ladies who can rock Sun Blonde because on me it looks like the most horrible shade of vomit I've ever seen. HTH!

No one should be debating Sun Blonde, Krazy Kahuna or Hibiscus. Just get it! They are the crown jewels in this collection. :whip:

i was debating on sun blonde for the longest. lol i just didnt know if i could work it and i didnt want to take it and not let someone else who wanted it not get it -_- but i ordered it and i also go the hibiscus which didnt really live up the hype for me as in i wasnt shocked at the beauty of it when i tried it on... ( i think it was probably just the 10000000 swatches of it that i saw that probably got me numb to its beauty.)
as for krazy kahuna... im not too fond of the lipglass texture.. the only one that i can put on and not be scared of it looking like a goopy mess is Lust lipglass.

I might go back in a few days and see if Saffron is sill there. If it is, I might pick it up. If not, oh well. I can't wait to use my new shadows tomorrow.

They need nudging. :haha: This stuff is moving fast and I don't want anyone to live with regret(sounds dramatic for make up, right? :lol

i got my fingers crossed for sun blonde i really do hope it works. i was gripping onto that fence for the longest with my feet dangling. lmao & trust me its not so dramatic for make up when things are literally disappearing in minutes!!!I think Sun Blonde will be gorgeous on you. It is a counter at Dillards. They can only hold for 24 hours, but don't need a CC number to do so. My MA just called, and everyone that had them on hold came to pick them up, so I am going to have to go to another counter tomorrow morning. I think I may try to order online and hope it's not backordered.

I wasn't sure if it would work for me. I keep going yes, no, yes, no, yes, no, yes, no on it. My counter has a track record of still having awesome, way hyped things days after the release. (Not always, but I've seen it happen more than a few times) so I'll take my chances and let fate decide.

Hello I am sorry if this was all ready covered but could someone please confirm/clarify this: My MAC artist told me she compared Swell Baby with
Bough Grey (Liberty of London collec.) and said they are the same thing. Can any one confirm?
I wanted Swell Baby because I fancy grey shadows but I suppose I don't need a 2nd of the same.
Also I am really bummed they did not bring Tendertones back in the little pots. Suntints suck! I don't like them at all.
I picked up Saffron and Sun Blonde I thought they were very pretty off beat shades. Saffron swatches a little ruddy what are you guys layering underneath it
to get it to really pop the lovely color it is in the pan?

Quick question... I don't usually order from MAC online, but just ordered the Pigment Stack so I don't have to drive all over tomorrow. If it is going to be backordered, how long before MAC will send me an email telling me that? If my credit card gets charged, is it safe to assume my order went through ok? I just don't want to miss out on these!

Got my Surf USA and Strange Potion l/g today (along with a few other things).
I am loving how Strange Potion looks and could kick myself for not getting it in the Evil Queen packaging when VV came out (I'm taking Revenge is Sweet to Disney World next month). Such a beautiful coral pink that doesn't clash with my red undertones. Which will go perfectly with....
Surf USA. Hot damn this shade is HOT! Applies so much nicer than my Aquadesiac and looks like a frosty version of my Newly Minted. I'm so impressed with how it looks I may haul a second when I go in for my Surf Baby appt tomorrow. Even if you have a lot of teals this will quickly become the 'star' of your collection. This is going to look stunning over my MUFE #21 (teal) aqua cream.
Anxious to check out the rest of the collection in person tomorrow. Depending on just how mustard yellow it looks, I may get Sun Blonde.

I'm worried Sun Blonde will look like ugly mustard, Krazy Kahuna will look like poo on my lips and Hibiscus will pull too orange.

Hey ladies! I was going to go to Henri Bendel today but with my final today and forgetting my 20% off bday coupon, I didn't make it. I stopped by a mac store (didn't get anything cuz i want to use my coupon) and did some swatches of things I wanted.

I just took your advice and on the back of my hand I put a bit of NYX's Black Bean and put the Sun Blonde over it and it turned this weird green color. Almost like an olive sheen.
