Chanel Foundations & Concealers

hmm, i might give teint a go then - i really want something as light as possible as i'm not a "proper" foundation person really, so it sounds like it might be better suited to me. i'll give the sample of lift lumiere another go sometime this week & see how i feel about it, but i think you're right that i won't find the right shade for me from chanel - faience would probably be alright for me when i'm a bit more tan, i think!

where would i find info for the skintypes that each foundation is meant for?
their website isn't too informative, and the counter ladies pretty much shoo me away!

I don't think Chanel groups skintypes into their foundations, if that makes sense. Just the type of coverage you want/need and the finish. The following chart is out of date now, but it will give you an idea about what each foundation offers in terms of coverage and finish. http://karlasugar.net/wp-content/uploads/2010/01/Chanel-Foundation-Chart.jpg (Teint Innocence, in its liquid form, is no more (read: not in the US; still available in the UK, though). Vitalumiere Aqua would sit in between regular Vitalumiere and Pro Lumiere, I think.)

I'm trying Mat Lumiere now because Vitalumiere was getting too shiny on me with the season changing. Mat seems to be doing much better. Not HG status perhaps... but I'm not nearly as shiny as I was getting. If my skin dries out again next winter I might give Vitalumiere another go. I'd like to try Chanel's translucent powder now, but I still have so much of MAC's left. I don't know. I just want the perfect foundation so I can focus on shadow and lipstick and gloss. :(

I've always wanted to try Chanel's foundations because everyone seems to rave about them. I might wait for Perfection Lumiere though... I have oily skin and Vitalumiere Aqua might slide right off.

I was really looking forward to trying Chanel foundation because I heard great reviews

I bought the pro lumiere foundation because I wanted a nice glowly foundation but I have combo skin. I thought this one would be perfect for me...

I was so disappointed. It went on lovely and looked great for about 30 mins then I just looked a greasy mess tbh. Even setting it with powder didn't help.

Its a shame as I was hoping to love this foundation but it just shows that not everything works for everyone.

Ooh, yes, it's definitely tricky to find a great foundation for my skin type. I hope you were able to return yours. For anything as pricey as Chanel, I'm going to Nordstroms because their return policy is awesome.

No haven't returned it. I feel guilty about returning products because its not like its a faulty product, just not great for me. I think in the US its more common to return cosmetics.

Does anyone have swatch comparisons of Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in BO20 (Asian exclusive shade) and B10? Or BO20 with any other foundation, and likewise the B10 with any other foundation? Is the BO20 darker than the B10 or just more yellow? I’d be very grateful for the help, I have to buy this online and I don’t want to get the wrong shade.

I love it too.. and have two bottles which I mix colours or use alone (B10 and B20) depending on how my skin looks.. what I love most is that every time I go I get a few little sample bottles -- these will be great for when I travel.

BO20 is much more yellow than B10. B20 is too dark for me but B10 is too pale and I'm yellow, so BO20 is a good match. Now I'm a bit more tan so BO20 is slightly lighter. I can wear it when summer is over.

Very excited about Perfection Lumiere. Hopefully I can find a good shade to match my skin. I've gotten rather pale but might become more tan as the summer wears on.

I hope that there's a foundation match for me in the new shades. I need for it to be perfect because there's nothing worse than a foundation with the wrong undertones. I don't know much about Chanel foundations. Do they run orange or red like Mac? I can never find a match with Mac unless it's a powder or the sheer Face and Body. I love my Mufe HD, but I would chuck it for a Chanel foundation. Ok, not totally chuck it, but it would be put on a leave of absence.
