MAC Glitter and Ice Discussion

Once again the holiday collection has let me down. On the other side, I absolutely love the packaging, this is my favourite white packaging Mac has put out. Plus the silver boxes look fabulous! This is the first time I consider something just for the packaging, which is kinda silly.

But the few products I want are Let's Skate and Morning Frost paint pots, and maybe the gold technakohl if it is pigmented enough and not dry.

There seems to be lipstick shades coming out that are really really close to some shades that were in fashion in the 90's. I had a cool brownish/pewtery/mauvish kinda lipstick phase back then, and Soft Sable seems to be in that family. But gosh how I hate the frost. Next!

Fresh Ice is interesting me for some reason, but I wonder how close it is to Crystal Avalanche?

lol. i am watching the vids and trying to get through since they have snooki in them. ugh. the whole show she is on is just ugh.

The red Lip and nail bag with Kanga Rouge (still not totally sure about this one. I just dont have many reds and the gloss in it sounds gorgeous)

I might be bad and order more, but it will have to be later, why does this have to come out so close to rent time! And with Gareth Pugh I got to try and be good

Ugh, I'm so torn about what to do with the stuff I reserved. I think I'll definitely get the cool face kit, the sultry lip kit, snowglobe, and shimmermint...everything else (snow season, sultry eye kit) I'm not sure of. I'm also tempted by the cool eye kit. Blegh, I just don't know. I think my main problem is that I've never used MAC eyeshadow and I'm afraid it won't be as nice as my Urban Decay stuff. I know I can swatch stuff in the store, but I hatehatehate touching testers...they skeeve me out so much. So I'm stuck with buying and hoping for the best.


(I know a bunch of the stuff I mentioned is technically Ice Parade, but that thread is a bit dead and I just consider it all to be Glitter & Ice in my head lol)

I just added snow globe to my pre-order...I couldn't help it. I just keep obsessing over it, can't talk myself out of it even though I have an HG h/l I just re-bought. Snowglobe just barely shows up on me (NC20ish), it's very subtle...and I like that! I feel like it will just come off as a natural glow.

In your experience, what's the best way to apply beauty powders..I am thinking just as a h/l with this one. Sponge, brush, or puff?

Something big & fluffy to do just an all over light dusting. But if I am only doing it as a cheekbone highlight, I have a Chanel kinda flat fluffy oval brush for highlighting. And, if I am doing the "c" around the outer eye (which I always do) I use my fingers to pat it lightly into the skin.
