MAC - Ice Parade and Dazzlespheres Discussion

Also, if you just want one of the minis and not all of them, ACW seems to sell the items individually after a time...even though I guess technically not for individual sale. I like how they split up the pigment charm jars in the past, so I could just get the piggie I want and not all the repromotes. They charge more than they are worth, but still better than buying more product than you need...

So what pigments or glosses are we loving for those who have had the chance to sample these in person???
oohh that is good to know! thanks! i shall keep an eye out :) and i love the coral gloss set i got - buy far the best out of the three!

I'm trying to talk myself out of the Dazzlesphere pigment sets. Do I really need these, are they super spectacular? I have not seen them yet in person. I'm trying to stay away from the MAC store for sanity....hah.

Personally, I was not blown away by the pigment sets. If you are a long time collector, than you already have four of them. Remember the Spring Colour Forecast crushed metal pigments? I took my Stacked 1 to my MAC counter yesterday just to make sure, because the photos I've seen online looked suspicious... The two purples in the Stacked 1 set are both in the Smoked Plum set, and the two pinks from Stacked 1 are in the Smoked Berry set. I still have these colors from SCF so I totally skipped those pigment sets this year. It made me sad because I am a total pigment whore and LOVE the metallic pigments! I have not gotten the blue set yet simply because I know I would never use it. I very rarely am able to wear blues easily. I still haven't completely knocked it off my list yet though. Damnit! lol

I picked up the pink and coral lip sets yesterday though. They are absolutely amazing and I am so excited that I got them! They are a little on the sheer side, but if they weren't, they wouldn't be wearable since the colors are just so bright! With the white packaging, the contrast of the bright corals and pinks is just stunning. I fully recommend picking up at least one of the lip spheres if you haven't already.

I completely agree with you on the coral set. It is gorgeous. By far my favorite! Actually been thinking of getting a backup... but I keep telling myself that they are sure to make similar colors in the future! Then I remind myself that we are actually getting MORE product in these tubes than normal... and argh! I really can't afford to splurge on these anymore. LOL

I can't believe I'm skipping the Dazzlespheres... but I don't see anything I really need/want. I'm happy with my holiday haul though... Wintercool Face Kit, Warm Eyeshadow Palette, Sultry Lip Bag... plus 3 Paint Pots and 3 MES from Glitter & Ice.

Nooo.. I just decided I don't need them. Don't make me want them now!

I got to see these in person yesterday. I was shocked how easy it was to pass this year. Last year I must have spent almost $200 on MAC gift sets and palettes.

First, a little goes a long way with these. You want to use a good stiff packing brush like the 239 or 242. Instead of dipping the brush into the shadow, press it, then tap off the excess. To apply, press it onto your lid instead of sweeping it on. HTH!

use a really stiff brush and I tend to mush some of the pigment onto the brush from the lid. Use some Fix+ too to get them to actually stick to your eyes.

Did anyone else notice that this collection's Emancipation looks different from Wonder Woman's Emancipation? It looks lighter with less shimmer.

I noticed this just by the promo pics. Doesn't look the same and the funny thing was that it was not on the display when i went to the MAC store over the weekend so i couldn't confirm it!

I did a side-by-side comparison earlier. They don't look the same to me, which is a shame because I really like the original (WW) version.

the coral lip set is so pretty. i love the red one and I'm thinking of backing it up. That coral one might be creeping on my list... But for a gift, not me LOL

i'm wearing phiff from the coral set today - really nice just over a lip balm to add some golden shimmers :)

The pigment whore in me wants these stackable sets but I just can't justify knowing how much of a pain they are to work with. Am really hoping to score these later at a discount at the CCO. Oh well, more money for Daphne and Gareth. (and maybe some BU of the BP from G&I plus perhaps the mineral brush set?) I am not really feeling these IP kits

I picked up the Smoky Plum pigment set because that Light Violet is EXACTLY the kind of purple I love most (enough to deal with its patchiness and fallout!), and I thought the other colors were gorgeous. I'd like the coral and neutral lip sets but I'm going to wait and see if they show up at CCOs later.
