MAC - Tour de Fabulous Discussion

Saw these today, but opted not to pick any up. The colours were pretty, but I have to say that I've been frustrated by the glosses since Mac started breaking off the applicators on testers. It annoys me always have to ask for some, especially when it's busy. I just want to swatch them on my hand for crying out loud.

I understand their reasoning behind this, to stop the spread of germs because some people would put it on their lips and may have a cold sore or something, but it is annoying to have to ask. I personally think they should kinda take a hint from Sephora and leave some of the single applicators by the display so then people can swatch and the MUA's won't be hassled so much.

I cannot wait to check out this collection in person on Friday! Lasting Sensation and Just My Type are the only two lip liners that are permanent. Thinking of getting Lasting Sensation later but at the same time I want it now to try it with my coral lipsticks lol

Lasting Sensation is a really really pretty slight pinked coral. I may get that one next. I think you would really like it.

True, It would be more costly if people would do that (some people are idiots IMO) I just don't want to feel like I'm pestering the MUA's whenever i ask for a l/g wand to swatch

The counter i go to always has l/g wands where the lipliners are.

Here they cut only the doe foot off, so we can still swatch the glosses, but not apply them to lips. I'm wanting so many of these glosses, but I don't know if this collection is even coming out here! Many of the lip liners are looking great too.

Ugh. I am beyond angry now. After that whole mess with ups they were supposed to deliver today. Tracking updated saying that I agreed to pick it up tonight! WTH! I haven't talked to anyone since saturday (when they refused to look for it until they found it) and now hubs has to go back AGAIN to get this stupid package. If they refuse to find it again (until they find it) I'm going to just have them send everything back.

EDIT: hah. Just as I posted this hubs called to say he had the package.

I hope your purchase was worth all this hassle! I'd call MAC and complain... You shouldn't have to put up with that.

I passed on that color simply because the swatches and reviews say it's much like Strange Potion... which I LOVED... and BU'd THREE times! So I was thinking I didn't need TdF lipglass. But if I love that shade so much, I may need to at least take a look at it in person. I agree it looks really pretty!

And, as a side note, I got the coral dazzleglass for Xmas and I think I may love this set as much as you do!

I went ahead and bought Tour de Fab because when I swatched it, it seemed brighter and more opaque than Strange Potion. I will have to find SP and see for sure, but I think TdF is more flattering on my pigmented lips.

Your post inspired me to go put TdF on my bottom lip and SG on the top, and on me, there was no discernible difference at all. I'm quite pale though, so since you're on the tanner side, it might be different for you. I'm not bothered that they're basically the same on me since I love my SG, and I can treat TdF as my backup.

That's where I was coming from too. I have enough BU's of SP, but it's good to know that there is an available dupe in TdF! Thanks for letting me know. It seemed that way from the swatches. Good to have the confirmation. Even if it was a slight difference on me, it still wouldn't be enough to buy it considering I have so many SP. Thanks again doll!

My store has wands available too. Not a big hassle at all. It still doesn't stop people to double-dip, which is really annoying and the very reason why I would never swatch a lip product on my lips.

I saw this for the first time on Friday - it's been months since I've been at MAC or on Specktra! I miss you guys and hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!!   - and yeah it was annoying. I was with a MUA but I thought it had maybe broken off, I didn't know it was intentional, ha I thought I wanted a couple of lip pencils when we first heard about this but now I don't want any. From T's swatches I have these three lipglasses on my oh-so-want-NOW list! -> It's A Wow, Rich & Witty, and Tour de Fabulous. Hope I can see them in person soon
