MAC Perfectly Finished Discussion

I am leaning towards getting this instead of the one that came out with the Naturally collection

My MA felt it's on par with Select Moisturecover for easiness on the skin, but much more coverage.

Today I used the concealer again, without vibrancy eye underneath and applied with a smaller brush. I think the bigger, fluffier brush gave me a nicer result - more diffused and without settling. I got a bit of settling using the smaller flat brush, but still so much better than most other concealers I've endured.

liba do you think if i wear nw20 in all other mac concealers , should i order this one in nw20 too?

I tried it again on my NW15-20 skin and it was still running a tad too yellow. I could correct the yellowness by adding/mixing the P+P Highligher in Radiant Rose to it, but the concealer alone would just be too yellow! I like the texture though, but I wish it would better work on NW complexions that are on the pinker side.

Okay, MAC Guy, I think you are my skin twin. Have you matched in the Matchmaster Foundation? 1.0 was too pale for me and 1.5 just a smidge too yellow, I sheered it out with Strobe cream, but I am wondering if I should buy both and mix. Have you tried the Matchmaster yet?

As to the concealer, I am wondering if using a pink powder would correct that problem. I would rather concealer lean a little yellow as it corrects teh purple discoloration well. Sometimes I wish MAC would come out with a true neutral, but I would rather have it too yellow than too pink.

Yes, I tried it. Same as you: I had to mix 1.0 and 1.5 (which runs really yellow) and add a hint to pink (Pro Performance Basic Red or Magenta) to make it more suitable for NW. IMO, it's really an NC foundation (same for the mineralize concealer and powder). Matchmaster is too powdery and matte looking for my taste, and it certainly does not work well on drier skin. It will just cling to any dry patches -- at least that's my experience.

Re concealer: Yellow-ish undereye concealer on NW complexionsmakes people look really tired. I would even put an NW concealer (if it is more on the neutral side) on NC complexion under the eyes to brighten that area.

i am NC but always use NW concealers under the eyes because pinkish in them neutralize darkness and brightens up under eye area. i do not like yellowish concealers for under eyes

Which foundation do you recommend for dry skin?

Yeah, you should always put NW under eyes regardless if you are NC or NW.

I am glad you guys told me that. I thought the yellow was good to neutralize the purple!

If you have purple-ish circles, I'd go for a more salmon-ey concealer, e.g. Select Cover in NW15/20 or Moisturecover in NW15/20, which is even more orange-y.

If you have dark circles, you can also use Studio Finish Skin Corrector (a PRO product & it's a pan). I was recommended Light Peach (NC15-20).

The five new MES are on the website now. They aren't part of the PF collection under the 'What's New' section, but listed in the Mineralize category.

Maybe its the similarity to the old bitone MES, but I am not too excited for these. Maybe its just because they are perm and what's the rush? feeling. IDK
I am more excited about the concealer.

yellow neutralizes redness. orange/ peach will neutralize blueish, gray, purple. look at a color week if the colors are opposite on the color wheel they will cancel each other out in makeup

My MAC Pro MA told me the MES are permanent for about 6 months or "until further notice."

I'm not the best authority because I usually hate concealers and just wind up with samples and refuse to buy the full size. I will say that as far as I can recall, I was closer to NW15 in some of the other formulas. I have some pro-longwear concealer in NW15 that was a good match and not on the light side. I'd say these Mineralize ones may run a bit light so NW25 may be the way to go for you. NW20 was a 100% perfect for me and I wear 1.0 in Matchmaster and NC15 in the Mineralize SPF15 cream foundation (which are both great matches for me too, without needing extra correcting).

When in doubt, go to a store and try it on in person first! I wouldn't dare buy foundation, powder or concealer without doing this, personally.

Just as a side note, if I didn't mention it already, I definitely get better coverage and staying power when I use this concealer over P&P Vibrancy Eye. It has some slight settling if I don't (although very minimal compared to every other damn concealer). With PPVE, no settling at all and the light reflective particles in it add just the right amount of extra luminosity to give a super natural finish - doesn't even need foundation on the rest of the face that way - it just blends in perfectly into my bare skin, which is fantastic.

^^ nice tip!

Since this creases on me, I had to set this one w/ powder, which took away most of the mineralize glowy goodness.

Is this the product that made your undereye circles disappear?
