Between you and Liba, I am now lemming this. I have never been able to do a smokey eye (I think I have yet to learn the right technique) but I am intrigued by this one. How can I use it without looking like someone punched me in the eye? I am pretty pale (NW15/N2).
I'm really pale, too, so sometimes it's hard for me to do a smokey eye without it just looking like one solid color on my eyelids. I find using a really densely-packed brush helps to get a dark color and pack it on the lid without it going into bruise territory and also helps create a gradient effect to still add dimension to the lid. I usually like to apply a dark color on the outer V area. If I put a super dark color in my crease then it doesn't settle well. So I usually use a matte gray or depending on the color scheme of shadows, a dark matte brown works for the crase. The brush I use is made for blending so it helps pack the color on and spread it out, rather than it being too concentrated. I use this one: http://www.urbandecay.com/24-7-shadow-pencil-blending-brush/285,default,pd.html?start=14&cgid=11 it does a pretty good job of packing color on, and it's a soft synthetic brush but stiff enough to do its job. HTH!
Ohhh also: xsparkage is one of my favorite bloggers with tutorials. She does an awesome job explaining her eyeshadow application and is amaazing at smokey eyes. She's also pretty pale, too! So she's a great reference
