MAC Extra Dimension discussion

I never got around to buying WoG, so when I saw it back up on the Nordstrom website last night, I placed an order and hoped for the best. Of course the order was cancelled today, but I'm not surprised. I danced this same dance w/ Nordies when I wanted to buy Subtle Breeze. I'm not too sad about it because at least I have Superb, but it really annoys me how Nordstrom constantly puts items back on their website only to send out "we're sorry, but your order has been cancelled" emails.
yes! same here!!! This happened to me twice with them :(

Q: for all those who use bronzer to tan themselves, what do you do about your neck and your chest???
Oh no... After reading this post I immediately checked if I could still get Glorify (which was the least popular of the EDSF's) but, they are sold out

Thanks to all the raves about Dark Dare I decided to order that one too. I now have Superb, WoG, Modern Pewter, Lunar and I will get Dark Dare tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

One week after I placed my order on bloomindales.com, my entire order has been cancelled, so no more Grand Galaxy. They also cancelled the two blot powders I order. How are they out of blot powder?!?

This sounds really annoying, especially as you had to wait so long to find out. :-(

Anyone else notice dark stipling marks on these EDES when you swipe them with a brush? I don't think it effects the quality but it is making the pretty pattern not so pretty anymore. I have just been swirling my brush around the rim between the shadow and the container to avoid it.

Double-dipping issues :)

See my post above. If you want to keep those babies, never double-dip as it will seriously affect the performance of ED e/s and EDSF.

Someone please has to tutor me how am I supposed to use the brushes. I have the 234 and the 128, but am quite lost how to use them correctly. What do you do with each side?

Got the notice from Bloomingdales today that I won't be getting YV from them. Luckily, thanks to the heads up from Yazmin I snagged one off of a sale. They took YV off the site finally.

Haven't tried it. I don't have Peony Petal, but i have NARS Gaiety, which is a matte blue-based pink. I can give it and Blue Orbit a try tomorrow and report back. I suspect it will look a bit unnatural, but that sort of thing doesn't bother me. I occasionally use ChenMan Blue Reflects on my cheeks as a special effects "highlighter". I figure at my age i can wear whatever i like

OK, i realized i was rather late at getting back to this, sorry. So i tried it today.

I did my skin care, did my face (simple primer, then Lancome Renergie Lift foundation, then setting powder). Then using my trusty and beloved MAC 188 small duo-fibre stippling brush i applied NARS Gaiety to my cheeks, forming something of a triangle from under my cheek bone to above my ear and on my cheek bone (not on the apple of my cheeks). I applied a second coat so the color would be stronger, then using the same brush i put some Blue Orbit on top of my cheek bone. Then gave it some time to see if it would change as it does on my bare eye lids...

I did my eyes. First, Tarina Tarantino Pearl Glow eye primer. Then Blue Orbit on the whole lid from lashes to crease, the swirly mauve-pink side of Pink Union from crease to brow, and the blue side in the crease, then highlighted only under the outer edge of my brow with the frosty pale blue in Hint of Sapphire (from Semi-Precious), because the mauvy-pink was (a) too dark and (b) giving me a small amount of silver glitter fall out. Lined my eyes with MAC Smokey Heir liquid liner, and put on some mascara.

I discovered that the only cool pink lipstick i have is frosted, which is ok normally, but too much with these sparkly eyes and cheeks. So i put on Too Faced Centerfold, which is lighter than my natural lip color, but basically neutral pink.

To conclude, i would say that Blue Orbit is probably a bit too blue for normal wear as a cheek accent as it might look a tiny bit bruised. I have no photos because i have no camera - it's on my list of new tech to get, along with a smart phone. I'm not really a luddite...

Comparing Blue Orbit with Chen Man Blue Reflects, the Blue Reflects doesn't add any base color, just warm blue sparkle, so it does not looked bruised.

Of course, someone else may want to give it a whirl and see how the color looks on a different skin tone. I'm between MAC 15 & 20 and neutral, leaning only slightly to warm.

LOLing at Luddite--I feel that way sometimes. This was awesome experimentation for your fellow humans on Specktra. I will sometimes use a little light blue e/s over blush to make it a little more blue based and over the highlighter to make it more like what I (can only) imagine the old Lightscapeade appeared to highlight. I use Diva In Distress blue e/s from Jeanius or Silver Gull from IA and they work for this. I bet the robin egg blue e/s from Style Driven would be hot as well, but I haven't gotten that one (yet). I wish I had BO edes to try this, but I will try either Silver Gull or Diva in Distress over Peony Petal blush (gonna play with make up tonight!)
