From my personal experience, the brush quality of MAC "SH" brushes is just as good as the regular full size versions (for example, I love my 129SH and the 167SH that was released with Hey, Sailor!). However, I've found that the short handled brushes that are included in the special sets that are sold at Nordstrom (denoted by the "SE") tend to have poorer quality. I think it's because the SE brushes are machine mass produced while the regular and SH brushes are made by hand.

I usually don't buy the brush sets unless they're REALLY cute, and when I do, I have to remind myself that the quality may or may not be lacking. They're decent for travel purposes but I wouldn't rely on them on a day to day basis.

I will probably skip the Illustrated brush set because I'd prefer to save my money and bulk up my collection with full size brushes.

Thanks for the pictures! The bags are really cute, but, alas, I have so many makeup bags kicking around, I really can't justify getting another. Think I'll be on team "stick to the shadows and try to save money" for this one.

I really like the Julie Verhoeven Petite Bag, but same here... i have too much Make-Up Bags and use only one at the same time for my handbag.

I don't think I've ever bought a MAC makeup bag during it's original launch. I always find mine at the CCO, haha. Love the bags, just don't like spending $$$ on them.

The lip bags, brush sets & not big bounce ESs (can't recall the name of them) are being released at Nordstrom's anniversary sale beginning on July 11 th, right??? Does this mean that we can take them with us if we go on the 11th?

I thought the official release date for this collection is July 12th, which is a week from today.

Technically the Nordstrom anniversary sale doesn't start on July 11th, just the Early Access sneak peek/pre-sale for Nordstrom account holders. Officially, the start day of the sale is July 20th.

That one is really nice... think I'm still skipping the whole thing though. Well, I WANT to skip, but let's see how strong I am once swatches of the e/s roll in.

I really like the the bag but I don't think I would do well with white canvas. Does it have some kind of coating at least?

I saw the Nordstrom's sets & bags yesterday. I wasn't too impressed and did not preorder anything.

The brush roll is only big enough to hold the SH brushes. The SH brushes in the set are of the typical quality seen in holiday SH brush sets. IMO not of nearly the same quality as the regular MAC brushes. Regular MAC brushes are too long and will not fit in the roll. So skip for me.

The bags did not seem to have any coating on them and IMHO look much better in pics on the web than in real life. I can imagine that they would get dirty over time banging around in my purse.

The makeup sets did nothing for me.

All of these products are available during the anniversary sale. If you have a Nordstrom's card, then you can preorder to pick up next week. I would recommend looking at these in person before buying.

The EC shadows were not available yet for preview.
