Mac Pro Palettes discussion

Hey everyone! This is my first post but i've been following this thread for a while. I called my non-pro MAC store this morning and asked if they had the new palettes and the SA put one on hold. I really like the clear lid but i'm scared it will get scratched easily. Also it is noticeably heavier than the original palette...Here are some pics I just took. Enjoy!

Wow! You've already filled it. I'm trying to decide which colors to put in it. I'm thinking my browns/bronzes/golds.

Yea i'm trying to fill it with the colors I wear most too because I am not paying 90 dollars for 3 empty palettes.. I'm probably going to keep the divider in it because it really bugs me that bottom row doesn't align with the rest of the rows.

I just dismantled my self made Mac Me Over palette. I'm not crazy about that but I guess I can always put it back if I don't like the colors apart. Off to check out this no heat depot method. I think I messed up my flat iron with the heat method.

Picked up a couple of the palettes with one insert each for eyeshadows and blush. Was going to post pics, but missmac18 beat me to the punch. I don't have a use yet for the 12 & 24 wells, so those didn't come home with me. My Pro store didn't have the 24 shadow inserts, so not sure what those look like or if there even is one.

Thanks for the info! Does that mean the 12/24 inserts can't store the eye shadow pans since they have wells? I'm having trouble picturing it too.
Just look up the old style MAC lip palette or Japonesque palettes. The idea is the same. You simply press your cream products into the wells.

This is so great....I have been waiting for such a palette/insert for ages!
I think there may be a little confusion about the inserts. There are 15 pan eyeshadow inserts and 6 pan blush inserts, as well as the Pro Only 12 & 24 inserts. The 12 & 24 inserts are actually like wells that you can decant lipsticks, cream foundations etc. sort of like the Japonesque empty wells or the BBU pallete. And as far as I know all 4 versions of the inserts should fit into the Duo palette/book form. HTH.

i popped it off the inner plastic container as per the other tutorials
that was easy with a lil knife, i think it was my fish pairing knife

than with wire cutter (i bought it for 1.29 at one these lil dollar stores)
cut the plastic away from the metal pan making two cuts then bend the plastic back in the middle the two cuts..
vwala ..metal pan exposed on one side

dipped the tip the knife in alcohol into that lil slit of the metal eyeshadow pan
and give the alcohol a couple seconds to undo the glue
after abt a minute, slide the tip the knife under pan an it will pop right out
my luck doing this method i will dip the whole shadow in the alcohol lol

Just got my palette yesterday at a free standing store in texas, I absolutely love it and couldnt resist!! The palette itself is $18 and to get the 15 pan eyeshadow insert is an extra $9 which I was a little bummed about at the checkout, I wasnt expecting 2 seperate prices but I think its worth it! This palette has so much more of a professional feel to it and I love how the shadows can easily be removed. It is exactly how the newer 4 pan eyeshadow palettes are, same layout and design. Will upload pics later, Really hope you can still b2m the old palettes!

Does anyone have photos of the double-layer palette?

And also - ew I think it looks really ugly with the divider :/ they look...too separated. I don't think I'm gonna go for the divider if I choose to buy one.

Oh, now I get it. I'll still probably get one of the well inserts way off in the distant future when I get to the point of depotting lipsticks. I'm no where near finishing any tube of lipstick and I keep buying more. But I know at some point I will and I'd want to scoop out all of the lipstick that's hidden inside of the tube.

I saw these in person today... maybe I'm the only one but I think they're ugly :( I'll only be able to justify the ugliness if I can get my hands on the double-layer palette easily. The SA didn't know what I was talking about when I asked about the double-layer palette..

EDIT:
I just looked at the picture with the 24 wells, and I think THAT looks cool. I don't know what I'd put in it though.. I prefer lipstick, concealer, etc in the individual pots (unlike e/s and blush which i like in a palette)
