MAC x Archie's Girls (Betty & Veronica) Collection Discussion (February 2013)

No, that was in the press release from MAC, so it was actually their information that said it. Even though people will try (as always) to claim that she stole it from somewhere.
That was in the official release? How strange!
I guess it is just confusing because they really don't seem like the same product at all! The texture is different and so is the color. Also, the finish seems different to me. Play it Proper seems to add a luminosity to my skin, while Veronica's Blush almost adds a kind of glimmery sheen. (Does that make sense?)

I love them both, but they really seem like two different products to me. Oh well, not the first time a repromote appeared to have a change in formula, right?

I'm going to stalk Nordstrom's website also. I was DETERMINED to pass on this collection UNTIL more swatches of Daddy's Little Girl started appearing. I even tried to convince myself that I don't need it because I have Outrageously Fun BUT the MAC demon in my head has defeated me.

DARN!!!!!!
Outrageously Fun and Daddy's Little Girl are very similar colors (honestly, I think they are almost identical) BUT the finish is totally different. I love Outrageously Fun but it doesn't seem to wear very well on me. I'm thinking that Daddy's Little Girl will wear better. It's more opaque. I've already bought 2 backups of it. I love it!

Thanks for the comparison. I'm no longer able to resist, I MUST add that beauty to my collection.

I'm totally disappointed in the sundae quad. I am very fair and this baby wouldn't really show up on me. It's strange. I think if you have lightish medium skin it will show better. I found that the lighter shades were not buildable after the second later. It may have been the vintage selection paint pot I used under it but I doubt it. I'll try it again tomorrow. I like that the colors are sheer to medium in pigmentation. Colors usually show on me even if sheer. The sheerness was not a problem for me, personally. I really dislike the packaging on the quads. My quad will not shut. It stays open because of the latch? Anyone else have the same issues? On a bright side, cream soda is lovely and buildable. It's everything I wanted immortal flower to be. It's more coral on my skin. Perfect s mer shade and its pigmented and lovely! I picked up the Veronica plush just because I loved the texture of Betty's.

The drug is widely available. It's called I'm Going Broke Buying Too Much Makeup. It controls my spending for me so I don't even have to think about it. There are side effects, though. Lesser BU purchases; constantly evaluating your stash to see if you really need *that* color or finish; uncontrolled, spontaneous fits of needing more money. You should consult your wallet for further information.

I wonder if it's because I paid with my Visa? I've seen people on here say that CC payments can take a longer amount of time to go through. Does anyone know what's the fastest way to get payment cleared when ordering off mac website? Any input would be greatly appreciated!
I paid through paypal and it took about 2 full days to ship my stuff. I called twice and they said the payment was clear but the items were being allocated and packed. I finally got the shipping notices tonight. It was supposed to be overnighted too. :/

That's a bummer! Some swatches of it looked lovely. Did you happen to get the Spoiled Rich quad too?

I didn't get the spoiled rich quad. I'm sure that quad would work for a variety of different skin tones compared to Betty's quad. The swatches for Betty's quad were nothing like swatches I've seen. I really think it falls down to your coloring. For me the pink barely showed up, the gold just looked like a very very faint shimmer (almost nothing,) the next shade to me was the best shade. Showstopper worked really well with the colors, though! Sorry I couldn't remember the individual shade names. This palette looked really nice on T. Looks nothing like that on me. LOL

I couldn't resist trying DLG...kicking myself for not getting a backup. From swatches it looked so hot pink, but you can tell from the tube it definitely is not, much more purple in it. I am in love, it is so opaque, and feels so moisturizing on.

Ok, so at first I was only going to get Flatter Me, but after seeing all those swatches I feel myself caving in and wanting

Flatter Me
Veronicas blush (maybe)
Betty Bright
Daddy's little girl
Girl next door (maybe)
the spoiled rich quad

Now would be a good time for an intervention!

Btw: I believe it was Babylard who was talking about T bashing MAC for pigmentation etc. Look at it this way: more for us. yay!

I'm pretty excited (but slightly nervous due to the rush to buy my stuff) for this collection! (I'm in the UK)
I'm not buying much as I'm a little bit strapped for cash at the moment, just a lipstick or two. Daddy's Little Girl will be a must!
