MAC Temperature Rising Collection (May 2013)

I got my haul yesterday! I wanted to take pics and swatch all of it, but I also got a kitten yesterday!! I am very distracted by him LOL. Anyway, I got both quads, RFL, both PLW bronzers, Caliente, FMP, Altered Beige, Liquid Passion, and Rhythm. I am wearing the BMS quad, Nude on Board and RFL right now and I'm loving everything! This is my largest MAC haul in probably a year and a half, and I am really in love with the collection!

....definitely LOVING the Golden Elixir Strobe liquid now. I applied it just to my cheeks, bridge of my nose, and my forehead and it gives a wonderful glow. I think my mistake was mixing it with foundation/ moisturizer and applying it all over my face. If it's still available later on I'll BU for sure

I tried Underdressed lg with Night Moth liner (stole Kiki's liner idea). I plan to try it with Vino and Heroine liner as well. My SA suggested using Magenta lipliner however I don't have that one. I absolutely love the effect obtained from using a l/l.

thanks for letting me know how that works and im assuming the reimbursement is thru paypal ..wish I had known abt this when rrw came out lol.. so for now I decided im going to go by mac later this evening when the car gets home and see if the lippie is there and if not then atleast try out the tester to see if its worth it.. thanks girl!

omg yes!!!!!!! I think I will bu too!!! Hopefully they make it permanent! I apply it to the upper cheeks! I'll try the bridge of my nose & forehead next, I'm just nervous abt those areas bc that's where I tend to get oily at:/

As soon as I saw that I ran to Nordstroms.com it turn out tomorrow they are having B2G1 free for all mascaras from all the brands they carry and you can mix and match brands! Ladies RUN not walk to Nordstroms.com lol

I finally got my package from Nordstrom today. With the exception of FMP I had planned on passing on most of this collection but I ended up getting both blushes & Caliente. The blushes are super pigmented on me. I'm around a NC42-44 & they showed up so heavy on my skin. I didn't even use a heavy hand.

I could've passed on Caliente. It's a nice color but the texture is annoying. I could've passed on FMP too. It's similar to other lipsticks that MAC has come out in the past few months.

Thanks the way I felt about Caliente. The last time I bought lipstick with chunky glitter it felt like I was holding a piece of sandpaper between my lips

. IDK, maybe I'm just super sensitive to that kinda stuff. I really wanted it but was scared to get it for fear I would be wasting money. I did pick up BMS, RFL, RG compact, and strobe liquid. Initially I thought the strobe liquid was too shimmery when I swatched it on my arm. After I mixed a tiny bit with my foundation I loved it!!! I will have to try it as a highlighter next.

I would be livid, too. Had this happen with Fashion Sets, when Heroine had been removed from my bag, when it was there when I checked a week prior. I'm a little less trusting now, especially since my SA was transferred to a counter where they have a no-hold policy.

Now I try to get everything I know I must have online, but don't release anything from my hold until I check it out in person.

I had an issue with that collection as well. But luckily I have a SA in NYC now so hopefully I won't have any issues in the future.

I just returned my BUs of these pencils. I have 35 year old skin that does not like the hard work needed to blend these pencils. My right eyelid is actually a bit tender this morning from the blending on Copper Strip. (maybe I was a bit overzealous with the blending but it looked so janky before)

Uh oh...I bought the charcoal one and I am older than you.

I swatched it on my hand and it seemed the blend easily.

I gave the BMS quad a test run today. I'm not super impressed. All four colors yielded a very dark smokey look, a little too bold for my day time preference. I used the taupe on inner half of the lid, the dark brown in the outer 3rd, green in the outer corner and the gold to blend the crease. Maybe I will try it with the green as a liner next, since it is very dark. How is everyone else wearing it?

Just got my last package today from Nordstroms...I really love AB and FMP...I don't have any of the dupes everyone was talking about for FMP but I do have a Maybelline vivid that might be close...will have to check that out but I am still thrilled with this collection. I also got Rhythm...it has beautiful glitter and it does remind me of Revenge is sweet which I never backed up so great. I went today to exchange something at nordstrom and pick up prep and prime lip. I swatched Sundipped so I got that as well. It is as beautiful as I remember (currently working on a Guerlain bronzer).

Someone at another site said they thought this collection was better for warmer skintones but I like many things from this one.

In regards to holds...I will sometimes call both freestanding or Nordstroms counter and they say they will hold something for me until tomorrow and then when I show up it isn't on hold. I don't know if the SA never puts it on hold or if someone just says "we don't do holds" and overrides it. So annoying.

I have not even opened my FMP because I'm worried that it's going to look weird on more like heroine did (it makes me look very sallow). Any tips?

Hey everyone, just getting back from Nordies. Will post my haul later this evening (once you all promise not to judge me, lol). Anywayz the store I went to in Adventura Mall, Miami did not get all the items and plan to get the rest of the collection in a week's time. I did not get my BMS quad as they only recived TR. I was also informed that they only got HN blush and I saw no sign of LP lipgloss. I was kind of disappointed as I had called in my triple points day to use today. The SA told me that they will call me when they get BMS for me to keep my receipt so they will adjust it with their CS dept and any other purchases I make that day can't go towards triple points. Since I had the opportunity, I took advantage of the Chanel Mascara special, B2G1 free (looking at you Ice,lol) I had held 2 Underdressed and they only had one left afterwards that was looking all sad and lonely. Being the kindhearted and sympathetic person that I am I couldn't leave it and took its siblings so I end up taking it as well
