That aesthetic is so neat. I loved those Lisa Eldridge tutorials on biba makeup. Did you purchase anything from that line? The hair and makeup on the promo model is very Biba-esque - strong eyes, strong lips, strong cheeks - although the dress isn't. The Biba look straddled a number of lines, but tended to be retro '20s and '30s. I love the Biba logo. Some corporation bought it, so if you see anything current with that logo, it really isn't Biba. Biba had its heyday in the late 60s and early 70s. Here's one of their print ads:![]()
Yeah. I still have what i got. I should have bought more, but it wasn't cheap and hard to find in the US.That aesthetic is so neat. I loved those Lisa Eldridge tutorials on biba makeup. Did you purchase anything from that line?
That's cool that you still have them. I don't like having a huge collection, so I throw things away pretty regularly. That's the downside of wanting a small collection. I wish mac would come out with some more alternative colors. The only recent one I can think of is firm form. Metallic grandma sounds awesome!Yeah. I still have what i got. I should have bought more, but it wasn't cheap and hard to find in the US. Metallic Grandma lipstick - navy blue with silver glitter - and a couple brown creme lipsticks in a medium and a dark - back then it was hard to find truly brown lipstick, they usually pulled orange, but these were good. multi-use gooey creme stuff called Face Gloss in Metallic Dark Blueberry - a pearly dark mauve purple - and dark pearl Tobacco - a shimmery mauve brown. China Doll Foundation in China Doll 3 (very pale cream) it came in a little opaque black glass jar. And RougeNatural - which is matte milk chocolate - it's a pressed powder, so it's still usable. I've seen some Lisa Eldridge tutorials - makes me "homesick" for my youth![]()

Lipstick Queen has a nice blue coming out, Hello Sailor (okay, not too original) and I was pondering if I should get it just because I like the color and want to try the brand...
http://www.ulta.com/ulta/browse/pro...971590&cadevice=c&CA_6C15C=330000200000004276
Not sure if its ulta exclusive.
Okay, admittedly this is OT and a very loose association, but if you wanted a blue lippie to go with your red fro and super 70s blush
The product info and catalog that I received in the mail says that it turns lips a berry color with a hint of sapphire so it's not going to really be blue. I was excited when I saw it then I read that. I wish my hair looked like that. Mine is as flat as a pancake, lol, no matter what I do. The promo pic also makes we want to go more red again. So fierce!Since I'm sure some people are givingthe model in the promo image doesn't have what is classically considered an afro as afro's do not grow down but mostly up and out.![]()
I'm a pack rat. But at least my makeup is all organized and inventoried... Afraid Metallic Grandma is too rancid to swatch even on my arm...
