Think I'm about to cave in and get EE, with the right lip pencil and gloss, it looks good on WOC. But we'll see...

Anyone who doesn't like their Private Party lipstick please consider selling it to another member. There seems to be a few on here that missed out and would love to have it.

I know it's none of my business what people do with their unwanted products but it breaks my heart to see so many items in perfectly good condition being returned (and destroyed).

Thank you so much for this! I'm looking forward to getting my paws on EE even more now

Personally, it still boggles my mind that you can return something that has been used. Here it's a big nono

I finally caught up on this thread. Just too busy to keep up during the week right now. Anyway, I caved and ordered PP lipstick, PP gloss and You've Got it lipstick on Nordstrom when I saw it Sunday or Monday (don't recall). I put it for in store pick up. Well, I never received an "order ready for pick up email" so I figured it would come for Thursday's release. Well, I was so busy I didn't get to check but I decided to go to Bloomies to buy the rest of the products. It was a hard decision because I've been going to my Mac store for so long and want to be loyal but the deals at the department stores have just been fantastic lately. Plus Thursday was triple points day so I figured it was meant to be. I meant to call before I went but didn't have time.

I knew I would buy the MSFs and some blushes but I wasn't sure about the MESs. I have so many and are they really different? I ended up getting a few. So many of the products had that metallic duochromeness to it that I just love. As I was picking products the MA was like "oh you got the last one" a few time she said that. PP lipstick was soldout. So I decided to go to Nordstrom to see if they have it. When I got there they said they there was a problem with the computer system. Since the store had the lipstick in stock, I just cancelled my online order and bought it in person. Now, I went to Nordies pretty late, probably close to 5pm and they had everything. And no crowd either. Maybe this may be where I need to go on launch days.

My Haul:
Lipstick
You've Got It- Pink Undertone with Gold Frost (Frost)
Private Party- Mid-tone plum mauve (Satin)

Cremesheen Glass
Private Party- Plum mauve with pearlized pigments

Mineralize Eye Shadow
Captivating- Bright white gold base/ Deep gold
Exquisite Ego- Bronze base/ Soft white champagne
Past Midnight- Blackish purple with violet pearlized base/ White pink frost
Until Dawn- Soft gold base/ Purple Taupe

Fluidline
Stares & Speculation- Mid-tone olive with gold pearlized pigments

Mineralize Blush
Talk of the Town- Warm brown base with yellow bronze
Lavish Living- Violet with silver pearlized base with gold pearlized pigments

Mineralize Skinfinish

Perfectly Poised- Bronzey coral with golden tones/ Creamy beige with pinkish purple sheen
Scene to be Seen- Mauve with pink sheen/ Brick rose with gold reflects
Centre of Attention- Pastel peachy pink with fine pink shimmer/ 24 carat gold shimmer

Nail Lacquer
Fierce Entrance- Rich gold bronze (Frost)

Now Lavish Living ??? I tried it on when I got home after shopping on top of my Chanel Accent blush and it kind of reminded me of Accent but I like Accent a bit better. It is not the same -definitely plummy but there was something similar about it. I think Accent suited me better as it was warmer but I do want to play around with this one more. Military - I wanted to get this one but it looked ordinary when I swiped it on the tissue. My nails were done so I couldn't try it on. Now Fierce Entrance was a gold/silver on the tissue but now that I have it home, it is just bronze. Nice but now what I thought it was so now I think I need to try Military again.

Scene to be Scene -woah! It's pigmented. I put it as a highlighter with a pink blush I had on yesterday. It might have been Chanel Accent, I can't quite recall but I used the 159 and I put way too much on. I had to blend like crazy and ended up putting some powder over it. I may use this one as a blush but it was still pretty as a highlighter - love the metallic duochromeness. So pretty!

Bloomies didn't have any cotton swabs or cotton balls for me to swatch on my hand. When I asked the SA what to use, she said brushes but I told her I just wanted to swatch on my hand. She said just use your finger. What is this? This is the second Mac MA that encouraged me to use a finger. So weird.

Also, I put my Scene to Be Seen away in my Highlighter drawer and it is officially full. What to do? I have 2 highlighters that still need a home and I know I'm going to buy some from Magnetic Nude collection. I think I need a highlighter intervention.

As far as I know you can't return a used product here either, unless there's something wrong with the product itself. Perhaps fellow Dutchies have had a different experience?

I had a hard time convincing the SA when I tried exchanging a pressed powder the day after purchase (wrong shade). It was unused, packaging was fully intact and I had the receipt. He finally caved in but it wasn't exactly the no-questions-asked approach that appears to be fairly commonplace across the pond. Which is fair enough as far as I'm concerned. If I buy something on a whim and I don't like it then it's my own bloody fault.

Anyone getting any of the eye/lip kits? I want something, just because I like the cute bags they come in (yes, really). But I can't decide which one. I DO NOT need any of the brush sets, I am up to my ears in brushes

I'm so behind on this thread but I went to my local MAC store the same day this collection came out and I'm sorry but everything was too shimmery for my liking.. ended up just getting Orpheus (even though I didn't really want it.. damn you MAC sales associates and your way with persuasion)

The stroke of midnight thread re-directed to this one? What the heck.
the mac website is crashing. did they just put that collection on there or something? I just wanted to look and see the items and now nothing is loading.

Here in Spain it's completely impossible to change or return if you've used it, and with makeup it's difficult to prove that you haven't used it. I only changed once, I bought a fluidline, walked about 30 metres and walked back and changed it for a lipstick because I thought I'd use it more. It's always surprised me that you can send them back if you don't like them, if we could do that here people would buy first and decide later if they like it or not!!

I don't think most people buy wildly and then return, but I'm sure some do. I don't like seeing when someone ordered 3 of an item and then return them all. Why order two backups on a hard to find item when you're not even sure that you'll like it? That doesn't feel right to me, just like those who order the full collection when they know they'll only keep a couple of items after trying them. That's what testers are for.

I have returned the odd thing, but I usually find items that didn't work for me a new home with one of my daughters (one cool-toned and one neutral). I am returning RiRi Diamonds and I feel a bit bad about that because I know it's a coveted item; it is a cream product though and really can't be sanitized properly. Most would not want that second hand and I don't blame them; I wouldn't either. I just hate it so much (as do my daughters) that I'm not prepared to BTM it when it cost more than $30 Canadian.

I know that I generate more than enough profit for MAC that a handful of returns over the years aren't an issue. I do my best to only order items that I'm fairly confident will work for me. I'd much rather wait and test items first, but since they sell out so quickly I can't do that. I only buy NARS in person because I have the luxury of trying first. That's what I'd like to see with MAC products.

Amorous and Private Party look nearly identical swatched on my hand and on my lips. Thankfully I like to color so no need to return. Oh well.

Sorry if this has been discussed but has anyone compared EXCLUSIVE EVENT with any grey/taupe toned lippies such as EMPOWERED and OUR PICK? I've been it compared to leaching shades such as Yash and Siss but it lean more grey so I'm interested in how it compares.

Comparison pic (natural light, no flash) L to R: Our Pick, Exclusive Event, Empowered, Nude

I don't find Exclusive Event to be a dupe for Nude at all, at least not in my swatches or on my lips. Hope this helps somebody.
