On the left side I have fff on by itself on the right I topped it with richer, lusher creme sheen. Excuse the bride of Frankenstein hair, just took my kinky twists out! But will address that hair and brow situation at the salon tomorrow lol
NiniCakes, your skin looks glowing. What are you wearing on your cheeks? I like what you did with FFF. You have J-Lo lips!

I would only feel embarrassed if I had used an enormous amount of a product and THEN tried to return it. Other than that it does not bother me (MAC excluded because I hate that they throw away items). But many stores in the US actually PUSH the consumer to buy and try. I can't count how many times I've heard an associate say "Oh just buy it an try it out. If you don't like it bring it back"

This rings true in countless beauty stores and make up counters where I shop. I get what you guys are saying about people who abuse the system, but I see nothing wrong with returning a product that didn't work if its within the guidelines of company policy
That's just bizarre, if not bad business practice

. Surely it would be a lot easier (and a lot less wasteful) to have testers and/or give samples?

So. I found some time last night and decided to, head down to the MAC counter to do some swatching. I wasn't interested in any of the liners, eye shadows, lipsticks, or the liners. I was only interested in the blushes and the skinfinishes. The first one I swatched was LTL blush. I thought it was a very pretty color but, I swear it's a dead on dupe for Milani Luminoso. Which I own so, I skipped it. I wasn't even interested in Talk Of The Town. As soon as I swatched it I knew I didn't love it. It's also a nice color but, It didn't show much color on my skin and I'm very fair. It's more of a highlight than anything and I have plenty of those. Just not a must have for me. Lavish Living was BEAUTIFUL in the pan, such a stunning color! But, on my face....It looked like a muddy mess. No matter how much the MUA buffed it in and tried to diffuse it, it just didn't flatter my skintone. I was bummed. It was the only one I was really hoping would work, because it is a unique color but, It just wasn't meant to be. So, next was the MSF'S I looked at COA first and I have to say, It really is a gorgeous pinky, gold shade. It looked good swatched on my arm but, on my face it was just meh. I'm not a huge fan of chunky gold on my face and it made me look a bit sallow so, I had to pass on that one too. I didn't even bother with Perfectly Poised. I'm not a fan of bronze shades that much. I only own one bronzer and I rarely use it. Easy Skip. BUT. STBS was ABSOLUTELY STUNNING! A beautiful rose gold/plum shade! And the interesting thing is, is that they were sold out at my MAC counter. The only reason I got to swatch it, is because the MUA felt so bad that nothing worked for me, that she let me swatch her own personal one! She made me sanitize my hands first though. But, I totally understand and didn't mind at all. It is SO beautiful guys! Easily one of the stars of the collection for me. She slapped a little on my cheek too and it just makes my skin glow. I told her that I was in love and needed this in my life. I'm bummed that I left empty handed last night but. That's okay. I will just order it online and get my Ebates discount, while I'm at it. I wished I had brought my camera so, I could have posted some pics but, I forgot. And my phone camera is a POS so, I didn't even bother. I will post a swatch of STBS as soon as I get it. My YGI will be here Monday so, hopefully I can get a swatch of that up too. Soooo Tired!

Went to my local MAC counter and it was pretty terrible. I prefer the one in Santa Barbara at the Nordies!
The one here was crazy, the testers were all a mess and no one even said hello to me at all.
I found the display for this collection but they were missing PP, so I didn't get to swatch it.

I really wish I had ordered it online. I missed out on it on Belk too, they're sold out. :(

Prettypackages: hope you are busy hunting private party down... ;) Private party is definitely a mlbb for me. I think the closest I have to it is captive but more subdued like ig it were mixed with hot chocolate.

Hi,
Sorry if this has been asked before but this thread is so big it would take forever to find the answer.....

This collection hasn't reached us yet in Ireland, not here for about another 10 days but I am making my list already so I was wondering for those of you who have already seen and swatched this collection in person..... -

How similar are Lavish Living blush and Scene To Be Seen MSF ???

In some swatches I have seen they seem to be, in particular the outer colour of the MSF.....

Thanks!

I always go to the ones  at VG and I went into the one at Macy's and they didn't have LL on display so the lady said they didn't receive shipment. Ugh! What's up with that! Online it says they have it in stock there, too! I haven't been to the one in Montclair in so long!  Did you go on Thursday? I wonder if they just sold out of LL.
Yes, I went on Thursday like 2:00 pm. And you? I bought them in Macys beside Apple. Store :/

Thanks StrongWoman! I'm wearing the perfectly poised MSF from the collection, I'm surprised you can see it I thought it was subtle on me but then again I don't have my specs on lol and I also have on Clinique stay matte foundation it's like a 2nd skin for me lol @ J-lo lips! that's my girl so I appreciate the compliment! :)

They aren't. STBS is pinker and more iridescent. LL is darker. I like using STBS over the top 1/3 of where I apply LL.

I saw the nude lip bag today. The paint pot is a little lighter than Nubile not as pink as Painterly and has no shimmer. The fluidline did not appear to have shimmer or glitter. It was very close to a matte Dark Diversion. More red than purple. Truly like a red plum in color. I passed. I can make Raven and Dark Diversion work but I am not sure I could with this fluidline where it was not shimmery at all.

Also....I picked up Talk of the Town. Mostly a highlighter but I wanted Nars New Order for forever and I think this is pretty close. Not as cool toned but that is ok by me. It isn't rose gold in my opinion or brown based. It is very light though. Think Blonde MSF or Porcelain Pink but a bit more shimmer and iridescence. No way a blush with color by any means. It has microshimmer when applied, not chunky glitter.

I also grabbed Captivating eyeshadow after swatching it. Very iridescent again with some duochrome in both colors. Super smooth texture. I love that the white is a golden white color. I LOVE IT...

A couple of MAs at my counter were wearing VG Ru Paul -- wow it is gorgeous. Wish I could wear reds because I love the bag too.
ANYONE and EVERYONE can wear VG I. Please try it out. You won't regret it!
Oh I'm not judging, I think you're very lucky to be able to return items that turn out to be the wrong ones for you. It makes shopping online much easier, and some of these collections such as Divine Night we barely had any info beforehand. Thanks to this wonderful community and many swatches and photos I'm able to see most items a long time before they come out in Europe so I can decide better. I was just saying I can imagine the frenzy here if they could return cosmetics! They'd use it for a night out and return it lol!
I can't tell you how many people would do that when i worked at MAC! They'd come in and buy makeup for a party or event and then come back a few days later and return all of it, used of course. They were just renting the makeup. I really wish we had the return policy that the rest of the world had with regards to makeup! :sigh:
