I saw the nude lip bag today. The paint pot is a little lighter than Nubile not as pink as Painterly and has no shimmer. The fluidline did not appear to have shimmer or glitter. It was very close to a matte Dark Diversion. More red than purple. Truly like a red plum in color. I passed. I can make Raven and Dark Diversion work but I am not sure I could with this fluidline where it was not shimmery at all. Also....I picked up Talk of the Town. Mostly a highlighter but I wanted Nars New Order for forever and I think this is pretty close. Not as cool toned but that is ok by me. It isn't rose gold in my opinion or brown based. It is very light though. Think Blonde MSF or Porcelain Pink but a bit more shimmer and iridescence.  No way a blush with color by any means. It has microshimmer when applied, not chunky glitter. I also grabbed Captivating eyeshadow after swatching it. Very iridescent again with some duochrome in both colors. Super smooth texture. I love that the white is a golden white color. I LOVE IT...
Talk of the town was my surprise purchase when I checked this out at Macy's today. I was going to see if any of the MSF were worth it but they were too glitter bombastic. TotT was the highlight color I wanted. At Dawn MES wasn't so terribly unique but being the taupe hoor I am I snagged it. PfP gloss and lippy are now mine also. I could not resist the microshimmer in it. One of the SA had it on and it was just dark and muted enough to be different from Runway Red or Firesign. Glad I saw it in person.

I, too am excited. I hope that it doesn't sell out in one day AGAIN. THIS SEEMS TO BE THEIR MO lately. Fingers crossed. I have not been able to take advantage of the last 2 collections.

I'm really happy with Private Party, I love colors like this. You've Got It doesn't do much for me, it's nice but wasn't amazing.

Very beautiful, Serenityy

I was in a rush today and grabbed a 159 to put Lavish Living on, which gave me two thick stripes, so I buffed it out massively with the 179 angled kabuki (love that brush). Normally, I'd rather apply lightly than apply more heavily and buff in, since it's easier on your skin when it's time to clean your face, but buffing LL in gave a gorgeous effect, where the color almost disappeared but left the most beautiful silvery pale lavender/violet highlight. Not only was the color itself gorgeous, but I swear it made my cheekbones look like someone else's new and improved, model-esque cheekbones. I can't say I own any other highlights that gave such an easy and cheek-boney effect. I tried examining it to figure out why it was defining them so much more than I'm used to, and all I can guess is it must be the subtle duochrome you get with the deeper sheer base color - I guess the light hits in in different ways, making the area below the cheek ridge look a bit more hollow from the right angles.

That blush is such a chameleon and you can use it so many different ways! LOVE IT. I bet one day (far in the future) I will hit pan on it, before most of my other blushes have half a dent.

I wore it with Stormy Pink on the lids with lots of mascara and TTT on the lips. Good simple look for a hot, Indian Summer day in L.A. - no cooling off yet in sight.

I think the USA is the only place where you can return something just because you don't like it. We definitely can't in Australia. I had to laugh the other week, I saw a really poor review somewhere about Kora Organics (Miranda Kerrs' skincare line), which is quite expensive. Somebody on holiday from the USA had bought it and hated it, but were absolutely outraged that they couldn't return it - the review actually bordered on abusive. Sorry buddy, that's the risk you take. My makeup and skincare collection would be much smaller if I could return the products that I didn't like or didn't work for me, and I'd probably be a lot richer too.
In New Zealand, you can return makeup, as long as it has not been opened or used and you still have your receipt.

Case in point, when RiRi <3's MAC fall collection launched here, I exchanged 2 unopened/unused MAC products for 2x TTT l/s without any problems!

I just realized the SA didn't give me Stares and Speculation. When I checked my receipt, I saw $17.50 so I assumed she did but it must have been the nail polish. Do I need to get this? I hate ordering one thing.

I hate when that happens. I think S&S is a unique light olive, but it's so light, I would have to use it as a base for shadows rather than an eyeliner. :/

Picked up my pre-sale items yesterday and threw in a couple extra Private Party lippies and lipglasses for good measure.  Don't know what I was thinking getting EE - I didn't want it - purely an impulse purchase. What brush is everyone using with Lavish Living?  I want the color with minimal shimmer and none of the glitter.  So far it's been a glittery mess on my cheeks!
I used my mac 129 and I had very little shimmer. It look more like a sheen than a shimmer.

That's just bizarre, if not bad business practice

. Surely it would be a lot easier (and a lot less wasteful) to have testers and/or give samples?
That's true for most brands, and true of MAC for the perm line. We all know what the LE game is like; stores get inadequate samples and they're sold out within minutes to those who waited for the store to open. I can't do that. Canadian MAC stores and counters don't allow pre-swatching of items (at least I haven't been able to find one that does, and I'm a regular at both). Someone pulled PP for me this week, but that's virtually unheard of here. I can't pre-order (other than the holiday collection items each year), so the only way to 'guarantee' (using the term loosely) that I can get an item I want is to order it the second it comes up online.

I would much rather stroll into the counter or MAC store on launch day, try everything out and only buy what I'm 100% sure will work. That's what I do for other brands and as a result, never make returns on those items. But MAC intentionally sets up a situation where people have to buy blind or risk not getting an item. I'm only willing to play because I can return items. I don't often have to do that, because I don't buy unless I'm all but certain an item will work. Having said that, no one should feel bad about returning an item that doesn't work when the system is gamed so that they can't try it first.

In this last launch, I knew without a doubt that PP lippie would work for me so I ordered it. I bought PP MSF and S&S fluidline in the store on launch day because I wasn't sure on those items. I risked them selling out to do that, but I didn't really care if I missed them so it was fine. The odd time when I do guess wrong, it's usually an undertone or too frosty/glittery thing and that's solved by handing it off to a daughter who has the right undertone or the youthful flawless skin that's required for the item. Believe me, I'll order PC and MN online because it's the only way I have a chance at them. I'll check the swatches and reviews (if they're out there) before buying, but I'm not going to risk missing the items I'm just panting for. If something really has to go back, so be it.

MAC sets themselves up for this. I would never buy blind by choice.
