Might be the swatch but this Dark Deed looks a bit lighter and not as black-tinged as the one from VV Collection

I would only feel embarrassed if I had used an enormous amount of a product and THEN tried to return it. Other than that it does not bother me (MAC excluded because I hate that they throw away items). But many stores in the US actually PUSH the consumer to buy and try. I can't count how many times I've heard an associate say "Oh just buy it an try it out. If you don't like it bring it back"

This rings true in countless beauty stores and make up counters where I shop. I get what you guys are saying about people who abuse the system, but I see nothing wrong with returning a product that didn't work if its within the guidelines of company policy
Absolutely, i work hard for my money and if i buy something to my liking that doesn't end up working for me after all, i am glad to return it and get something else to my liking. Makes the shopping experience a lot more fun for me, that i can do that. This is makeup we talking about, and i not going to apologize for that, if someone is looking for something that is a different story.Sometimes i have friends, who are like wait, i want it.

At the Inglot store, in New York nothing can be opened for returns through. Truth be told, I take my time in the store to make sure I am sure this is what I want or that I don't have a dupe when i'm there. Sometimes at Mac, it is too busy to do that.

I can't tell you how many people would do that when i worked at MAC! They'd come in and buy makeup for a party or event and then come back a few days later and return all of it, used of course. They were just renting the makeup. I really wish we had the return policy that the rest of the world had with regards to makeup!

erine, i was iffy about gettin it.... NC35 would look good with it?

I can't wait either. I ordered this one. I've been wanting Vino and (hangs head in shame) I've never tried the Cremesheen Glasses so I thought this would be a good time. Not to mention Dark Deed looks lovely and the bag is really cute. Can't wait to get it.

I forgot that I ordered the violet lip bag, it'll be here tomorrow. Woops lol. Okay I'm kind of a little disappointed that You've Got It and Art of Seduction are the exact same thing. Come on MAC, do better! I may just return You've Got It. I hate wasting money :sigh:

I don't mind the return policies here. For the most part, I tend to keep what I buy. I do wish that drugstores would offer testers AND more sanitary safety seals on their products/ I think it's more absurd to not have testers for drugstore lines, than it is for MAC to offer products blindly without swatches. Either way, stores get limited supplies of items (both MAC and drugstore), and I think companies would best utilize beauty bloggers if they reverted back to sending the items earlier, pre-launch, so that there's a frame of reference in regards to shade range and product performance.

I've returned items, specifically those foundations that break me out, or oxidize on me throughout the day (but I test the shade beforehand). I returned the Nordstrom NARS face palette because I just couldn't get it to work. The application was patchy, and I wasn't pleased with its performance. Often times, when it has to do with the color not suiting my skin-tone (Save for foundation), I will resell for the price I paid to friends in my social circle, or online.

I think I'm going to skip the Violet lip bag. I only want it for Dark Deed and it's just silly to buy the bag for just one thing. Hope I don't regret this later.

I agree! I also order online but from Nordstrom. I don't have a Nordstrom where I am so I'm going to have to ship back. I'm already thinking of the hassle it will be so I'll probably pass the lg on to a family member.

It sucks that Dark Deed looks much lighter on Temptalia than the original release, but then again I don't trust her lip swatches all that much so I'll wait for you guys to post swatches.
