Thank you for the tips ;) but I'm in France so I order from the french Sephora website. They still haven't put anything up, and the 25% discount code (first time they *ever* did that!) ends tomorrow. I have a bad feeling it will show up the day after tomorrow. *sigh*
I want the Coeur Battant blush, the Promiscuous lip set for sure, and I'm still undecided regarding other items. :)
Maybe you could call customer service and see if they can phone-order it? The official release date is today after all

That's a good idea, but sadly they don't do phone orders, and they even refuse to say when collections are available if you ask them.

I envy you all when you're talking about pre-ordering and free shipping and samples and return policies, etc...

Here in Sephora stores you can buy 200€ worth of products and get no samples at all, poor service, and there is almost no return policy (you can return a product within 7 days for refund, 60 days for store credit, if it's unopened, unswatched and ready to be put back on shelves immediately, and you pay for the return if you ordered online). Also many brands are 30% more expensive, for ... reasons. It's still better than prices in Asutralia or Singapore, though. :/

Sorry for the rant, lol.

I was going to recommend the same thing. Sorry you're suffering in France, Marie. The return policy there is so strange b/c it's the opposite of Sephora's in the States. Lots of samples in store and online as well as an open return policy.

Oh I'm not suffering, it's just a mild annoyance. ;) But thank you, you're sweet for wanting to help. :) Some stores like Douglas are more generous with samples. Le Printemps, Galeries Lafayette and Le Bon Marché often have great service (especially in Paris). When I was in Canada and the US, I was blown away by the GWP and samples and service. It's a different world, lol. It's likely the collection won't be up until Monday because today is a holiday and then it's the week-end. Oh well... C'est la vie.

From what I have read about wardrobe and other things a lot of European countries focus on quality over quantity whereas in the United States it seems we focus on quantity over quality… We like getting a bargain and GWP's are a huge part of that. A lot of people over here seem to buy in bulk {groceries toilet paper etc} and wait for the BOGO or GWP etc. This is not to say we don't seek quality and that European shoppers don't seek a bargain but it seems to be a difference in focus. It might just be a horrid stereotype …. Either way that explains why a lot of markets here seem to offer free samples and discount programs and such. Even my child's orthodontist offers token that can be redeemed for gift cards. Because when shopping for an orthodontist my main concern was the perks offered {insert eye roll}. Heck even the hygienist was telling me if you get the target store card you get 5% off and then every 5th purchase they send you a coupon a 5% off coupon so it is 10% off when you shop that day. This is supposedly a huge selling point for Target {to buy my oral rinse etc} but I tend to look for what is the best oral rinse not the one that will be least costly….

That is a very good point. I also think that US customers are used to having lots of options (usually) to shop from. Stores have to work to keep up a loyal customer base so they focus on customer service, samples, and other perks. Retailers like Nordstrom have set a benchmark when it comes to no questions asked returns so other retailers over hear are pushed to doing the same or similar. If not, they can lose a customer Nordies if the customer doesn't feel comfortable buying a product that they are maybe on the fence about.

It's OK. :) Usually there's a 20% discount a couple of times, but this is the first time they did a 25% off, wich is nice because winter collections are arriving in stores. I have a wonderful little Sephora nearby with super nice people, but they don't have NARS (or many other brands), so I *have* to order online. That's a good idea, but sadly they don't do phone orders, and they even refuse to say when collections are available if you ask them.   I envy you all when you're talking about pre-ordering and free shipping and samples and return policies, etc... :p Here in Sephora stores you can buy 200€ worth of products and get no samples at all, poor service, and there is almost no return policy (you can return a product within 7 days for refund, 60 days for store credit, if it's unopened, unswatched and ready to be put back on shelves immediately, and you pay for the return if you ordered online). That is so strange... I wonder why it's like that at Sephora fr

Made the mistake of reading this thread and falling in love with Day Dream blush and Cambodia e/s. By "accident" I order them on Friday and my stuff gets here on Monday. Can't wait.

agreed. My best friend from college days {ahem almost 30 yrs now} lives in Ireland and not only is the cost of living unbelievable because land and housing was used up eons ago {my sister also lives in the UK and trust me housing is absurd} but the options as to where to shop and what to purchase is also limited. Of course I read about the fabulous antique type markets and drool a bit but such is life. She was amazed on her last visit at how inexpensive clothing such as LL bean etc were for her daughter {cute dresses found at outlet mall} and took home a suitcase full of stuff from williams senoma {also on sale} plus flushed out her fiesta ware collection {which has been going on for as long as I have known her}. She owns a home that has a name instead of street address which amazes me … X cottage in Y township of Z county…. so I think neighbors and community but she sees lack of shopping and no privacy to let out her free spirited self run wild. Grass is always greener I guess….

anyway if you only have the village market, and I have lived in small towns that only had one market, the pickings get slim. And customer service is not to be expected. When I worked on Chappaqquiddick the wee little shop on the island for milk was it. Of course the ferry took you to a village with more options but still… insulated it was. Not that it was a hardship~ lovely part of the country :D

Coeur Battant lightly applied. Don't think I could run out of this blush if I wanted to. A little goes a very long way!

Anybody can please confirm if the ingredients listed for http://www.sephora.com/guy-bourdin-holiday-collection-limited-edition-blush-P383166?skuId=1561471 are correct? Because their regular blushes contain parabens/triclosan/bha and these don't, so I'm planning to order both of them if it's true :D
