MAC A Fantasy of Flowers Collection (February 6, 2014)

I went to a thing in the fall and it is supposed to be the new in thing and it was sooo uncomfortable.

To me it even LOOKS uncomfortable. Not my taste at all but who knows someone out there may dig it

From other fashion reports i've seen, it seems that balmy, greasy lid look isn't just at Kevin Aucoin. Supposedly MAC will have a similar product just for eye lids later this year. I don't recall in which fashion blog i saw it, something someone posted to some board here on Specktra...

I remember seeing the post about the MAC product some months back and think it was also posted on their Facebook in one of their fashion week albums.

I went to a thing in the fall and it is supposed to be the new in thing and it was sooo uncomfortable.

I can only imagine! It looks like it'd feel like you have something moist on your eye. I can see myself wanting to rub it off all the time. lol

Hooray! Another Gorey fan! He is such an influence on my art. The Amphogorey books are awesome to have. I even have a Gorey tarot set

I love Gorey! A friend got me the paper "theatre" diorama of the stage design he did for "Dracula" a few years ago, but I'm too scared of injuring it to actually take it out and assemble it... I also used to have the Gashlycrumb tinies page for "K is for Kate who was struck with an ax" on my bedroom door for years...

A little more on topic, does it seem strange to anyone else that we don't have a colour story for this collection yet? It's launching in a month, which means it will likely be available to Pro stores in a few weeks. Seems that normally Mac has sent out all their press releases by now, but there's NOTHING official about this yet.

I would feel the same way about the diorama! And K is for Kate was the first piece of his I copied to practice!

On topic, I think it's like PC and MN were around the holidays. They waited until the last minute (it seemed) to give bloggers the products and for the colors to be known. That being said, RELEASE THE COLOR STORY!! NOW!!!

I recall a time in the past when women sometimes put Vaseline on their eyelids over their eyeshadow for a particular look. I never did it (i hate Vaseline) and don't recall which decade that was in... It isn't that when we get old we get forgetful, it's just that we have so much more to try to remember!

yeah i have oily eyelids if i jus dont put anything on them then they look nasty glossy anyway haha. Im usually up for a new trend but glossy lids is NOT for me. I hate the idea of the way it would feel and it would crease up soooo bad on me i just know

If you wanna try it out and see what it looks like, try MAC gloss texture. It's definitely a "hair pulled up" kind of day tho :lol:

But why??? I love that "hair plastered over my eyes" look.

I personally feel like the glossy eye look is more editorial than everyday.

True, which is why the gloss and eye gloss are/will be pro products.

haha yeah i always get hair in my lipgloss then i would have lips and eyes to pull it out of. Guess when i get my braids back it might work tho!! So is the gloss gonna be clear and u put it over or under your own color?? OH and i wanna be on team girly girl!!! go pink and sparkles!

I do believe the new ones coming out are gonna have some colours. I think there's a black one IIRC. But the current gloss texture is clear so you can put it over any colour.

The green fluidline looks like Ivy from the Mickey C collection a while back.

I agree and hope it is. That color is pure love!
