I agree in theory Liba.. it might be a better colour than the original if it's been reformulated. However this deals with the emotional aspect of makeup not with the technical or the reality.

MAC calls it Stereo Rose -- and people who buy have an expectation which might exceed reality that it is the same as the previous SR no matter how much better this product might be.

But again, it's all subjective. What it really might be, what we really might feel about something or how much we like it and are willing to pay for it.... is all a subjective issue which is sometimes far from reality.

I don't think people are outraged -- but just disappointed. You are right they should have called it Rose Stereo or HiFi Rose, or FOF Rose.. but using the same name gives one impression one is buying the same item as before. Like when Coke changed the formula -- there was mass rebellion. Granted, the new coke might have been "better" to some, but it's loyal fans wanted the old one.

lol .. it's the brand marketing that counts.

Yeah the emotional aspect of makeup and the general hamster wheel of the ever-faster and shorter product cycles of all consumer goods out there is a real drag for people who want some reliability for their money. I just had a male friend have a huge meltdown because he couldn't get the same pair of sweatpants he's been relying on for a decade - he was genuinely all messed up about it. I tried to send him some links to some other brands that might even be better, but he'll have to adjust on his own schedule.

I'm the type of person that got back into makeup precisely for all the new tech and the novelty and I'm happy to use something up because I've got a lot of faith that the tech is only going to improve going forward, plus I've got my left brain tendencies, just in general. 'Haven't had a lot of continuity and stability in my life either, so no surprise I embrace novelty as much as I do. What a coping mechanism! I do want everyone to enjoy their purchases if they like the way they look and wear and not worry about the past, considering the past isn't alway what it's cracked up to be. If I'm sounding like that annoying boyfriend who's always giving "constructive advice" instead of just understanding, all I can say is "whoopsie"! My bad.

Meanwhile, I am sure MAC will continue to repromote MSFs every year, so here's hoping they eventually start bringing back ones that are the newer tech to begin with, so that the new versions are much more identical.

We should just drink enough wine to remain functional and flushed at any given moment. We wouldn't need blush! Take that MAC we don't need your blushes anymore!

Babe, you've posted a lot of pix of lippies you've bought over the years and I've got to say, this is maybe the prettiest one I've seen on you so far. It's fantastic on you and it suits the way your wear your hair too! It'll look really nice with grey, white and soft colored clothes or with mod 60's looks. Enjoy it!
I'm so stuck in my ways. That I really don't change hairstyles often. My profession has made a little boring I guess. But I do agree with you. So glad I purchase the lipstick blindly and satisfied.

I didn't let scissors touch my hair for over 10 years and man, that was a mistake. It's so much healthier now, but the truth is, I'm still basically sticking with the same haircut, just a little snappier. With that slow growing curly hair, it's one thing I'm sticking with the tried and true on.
