So a MAC rep called me out of the blue today! I had called to complain about my PT when I received a beige-y one. They sent me a replacement that was only slightly better, and I ended up keeping the relacement and sending back the 1 they initially sent me. I guess they received my return yesterday and called me for feedback. After a lengthy conversation about how people feel when they get a "repromote" that isn't a true repromote and lots of suggestions on how they should handle re-released products (ie give it a different name or at least call it version 2.0) she was so nice and offered to put in a request to credit me the money for the PT I kept. I told her that I didn't want her to do that. That I was keeping the product and would use it for what it was, rather than look at it like it was the original PT. I told her that many people would probably be excited to get a newer version of a past loved product. And that this new PT was really quite lovely in it's own right. But not disclosing that it could be different due to reformulation (or other factors) people felt deceived. She agreed 100% that MAC does not and should not deceive their customers. She assured me that they value their customer's opinions and that she had taken tons of notes to pass onto to Supervisors and even Corporate! She asked if it was ok to have someone higher up contact me. Of course, I said yes! So I feel pretty good about how MAC handled me and my feelings and opinions. Even offering a free product, that I declined, was a nice gesture. I felt a little like
@elegant-one one today with the notes!! HeeHee Maybe if MAC is doing this with lots of consumers, they will improve on this behavior in the future.
