I can't deal with T's anti-MAC. Her readers are bad too. It seems that most MAC stuff gets a bad grade. It's pretty clear that some blogs have brand preferences (which is normal) so you have to pick the ones you want to read based on your makeup love. And like a lot of you I love a lot of stuff that get bad reviews on blogs (any of them, really). I really don't want to come off as negative. It's just I agree so much with a lot of the recent comments on this thread and I had to say something. MAC isn't perfect, but it does seem that a lot of people are out for them right now.
I KNOW!!! I dont get it. I love Mac, granted they are not perfect, but none of the lines are imo! And T used to love Mac. Its a matter of opinion, i feel like some ppl jus agree wit her and dont even give stuff a chance. i did that once and regretted it. Some of the best makeup i have she graded sooooo bad. Karen likes Mac, and shes always having the unsung heros where she mentions a lot of my fave mac products!! The whole reason i found Ts blog was because of looking for Mac swatches

Hate veering off-topic, but I totally agree with this. I've noticed that MAC stuff does always get a crappy grade on that site.

Anyway, I think I'm still going to get Woodrose. From the photo Naynadine posted it looks really pretty; even if I have to build it up a bit. I'm also finding myself leaning towards Mangrove. This is silly of me but I just feel weird buying one lipstick from a collection. I feel like I'm cheating myself in a way; so I think I'll pick up those two.

It's funny to read that Temptalia is anti-mac. I don't get that vibe at all. I don't think she's out to get mac or turn her back on it. It's just about one woman, a blogger, with a high profile spewing her opinion. What she likes or doesn't like is being shared with the public, but it's not like her word is gospel. I've bought products that she thought were poor and I thought they were magnificent on me. I don't think she's purposefully leading people astray. Perhaps her tastes have changed. Hell, I know my standards have been raised since I stepped out of Mac years ago and tried other brands. Sometimes what used to cut it for you just doesn't cut it now. I also think sometimes we are oversensitive about the brands we love. I know I have had to catch myself when that happens (with MUFE or Chanel). I don't think she's out there purposefully being anti-mac. It's just things not working for her or up to her standard and that's why, like I said before, I just want pictures and then I'll decide if something works for me. That's how I feel about it.

Me every time I read a comment on here or Temptalia about someone skipping a product b/c she gave it a poor grade.

Some bloggers are clearly paid to say things for brands, like Instagram profiles and youtubes. I stay away from those completely. Some girl was advertising mascara and the promo was CLEARLY lash extensions...I'm like oh god. Anyway I think T's site has grown so much and she gets overwhelmed and rushes through reviews. I'm basing this on things I've seen her say. Granted she reviews tons of products so it's no wonder. I'd rather have her than not! But if you feel you like something try it before you pass just because someone, anyone, says something bad about it.

I'm glad her site is around too as a reference. Again, just pictures. I think she gets a bit carried away with the "testing" and all that jazz. Make life easier and just post pics. It's not that serious. You expect me to read 4 paragraphs on lipglasses? Haha OK. No.

I totally agree. I think what I'm trying to say is that she has grown to love other brands and gives them more praise. But, you have to hand it to the girl doing all that testing and reviewing and she is very thorough. I still read her and am very appreciative of her work. I just find it amazing to read her first reviews to now about some brands. It's also interesting to read the reviews and see people rush to bash MAC. But then everyone always notes MAC as their go-to whatever. I hope this makes sense.

This yo. I think its because this board majority wise loves MAC so they do tend to feel more sensitive about it. Personally if I visit her site its strictly for swatches and comparisons (not what she says, but that picture swatch comparison program on her site). I actually don't really notice anything she says in particular, now MAC is being terribly stingy with the press samples but back then she used to be the girl to go to to get your shopping list in order.

YEP! It's best to know what you like and check out blogs for looks and swatches.. not reviews. In the cyber world now there's too much tainting of the "review system." I don't think there are a lot out there that can be trusted 100%. HENCE, my love for Specktra! I never feel that anyone is praising something they don't truly love here. Even if you disagree, you still know their review is honest for them personally!

I agree with this. If you look through T's history, it seems she gave much better reviews of MAC before she drifted into the higher end lines. Once you go THERE... it really changes where you set the bar. It's like all I used in high school was drugstore makeup, and once I got my first MAC item I couldn't believe the difference. And now Nars blushes have made me pickier about MAC. And up the ladder you go.... T has grown in her skills and expectations, like we all do. It just makes sense. I never take makeup reviews personally. Afterall, we definitely aren't seeing the rewards from the sales of any brand! LOL

Pinkfridge doesn't excite me anymore like I thought it would. These swatches are confirmation, but I am loving all the photos in that article of the packaging. I ADORE the packaging! And you said the lipstick tubes have a nice bit of weight to them, right? Hopefully I didn't misread.
Not sure if it's heavier than a regular MAC lipstick, but it feels and looks nice. Definitely not cheap looking. I adore the packaging too, can't wait to get the blush as well.
