I would never wear false lashes. It's just another step to add to a too-long routine already. Plus, I'd be constantly touching them to make sure they were still there. Mascara is all I need.

Me neither :) I prefer a natural makeup look. Not sure if you can still look natural with falsies, I just always see these big fake lashes on people on IG, etc where they look fake and huge from miles away. I don't understand that kind of look, looks horrible to me.
You can absolutely still appear natural with false lashes. All depends on which ones you use. Red Cherry, for example have great natural lashes and the band is so thin that you don't need liner to disguise the base of the lashes. I think everyone should try it before dismissing it. Don't be scared off by people looking a little crazy wearing their lashes. A lot of times it has to do with the lashes themselves. Some are really poor quality. Erine, you look hot! ETA: I've only once had a problem with my lashes coming off and that's when I first started. That was my error. I'm baffled by people who are constantly having their lashes pop off. Must be terrible. I don't even feel mine when I wear them either.

I love using falsies for when I want a little more flare. I don't really care for the ginormous in your face lashes, but I do like a good pair of false lashes for when I just want a bit more oomph to my look.

35s are too narrow for my eyes, so i need to wear 2 pair side by side :sigh:
That lip colour on you is beautiful.

Thanks doll!
ohhh Well hello there..... FIERCE!!!!
Hey girl! :naughty:
[@]erine1881[/@] what lipstick are you wearing here? Why is everything so effortless with you?! I wish :/ lol
Redd liner and Dangerous! God i love these new retro mattes. Oh, and this was after 12hrs of wear AND dinner! I was just running errands that day it was a simple makeup but bold lip day-lashes and bold lips with nude eyes are a great way to give your face some POP! All i had on my eyes was painterly.
OK, maybe I have to try lashes after all, lol. That looks great and definitely far more natural than the IG folks I was referring to. :haha:
Yeah, unless I'm going out to dinner or doing a full on face (with RC 47s or 138s), i wear RC 523s. I don't do the crazy lashes that IGers do. No do i stack my lashes. It gets windy here in Indiana. I like to keep my feet on the ground, if ya know what I'm sayin'? :haha:
I've never wore lashes either but want to try them. Where exactly are you gluing the lashes on LOL!
I like to compare it laying down carpet (on top of the cement, but up against the wall). People seem to understand it this way :dunno: You lay them on your lashes, but they're against your lid. If you apply your liner first, and then add your lashes, you should still see your entire line of liner. If you do, then you've applied them correctly.

Thanks babe! And i agree. I cringe when i see lashes poppin off. I always double check before i leave the house, and always have a tube of glue in my purse just in case. You can never be too careful. Even if it's waterproof glue, my eyes water sometimes, so I'm always prepared!

All this talk of lashes is making me want to try them again. I tried - and failed - years ago, but I don't think they were very good quality and I had basically no idea what I was doing. I need one of you lash experts to come give me a personal lesson lol. Can someone recommend a couple of Red Cherry styles that would be good for a beginner/fairly natural look? Also what adhesive do you like best?

I wish I could take pics of what I'm referring too. I personally am not talking about dramatic, artistic, use for flair, a lil something extra lashes. I have a friend who wears them daily and they look natural. But I'm sure you all have seen the ladies with these tacky, too much glue, ill placed, too thick, just too much, lashes. LOL I had a lady helping me pick out glasses, and all I could see was her over done lashes.

Thank you! One of my faves-those orangey reds!

I'd recommend the DWs and the 747S (these come in different lengths, and are almost identical to the MAC #4 lash to give you an idea of what they look like style wise). I prefer duo adhesive. I use the short tube, which is waterproof (tho it's no longer labeled waterproof, it is waterproof. I emailed the company and asked) as opposed to the longer tube of surgical adhesive duo like mac sells. Duo now also comes in latex-free for those that are latex sensitive. Duo works best for me and i use it on my clients as well. I like the white that dries clear, especially if you're just starting out. This way if you make a mistake, you won't see it, whereas if you use the grey that dries black, if you bump your lid, you'll see the mistake when you end up with black glue dots everywhere.

My eyes water sometimes, too but thankfully I haven't had any incidents. My biggest problem is in the morning sometimes. I want to break everything because my eyes water and the lashes won't stick. Hasn't happened in awhile though. Also, I only use black glue. Seems like no matter what I did with the white glue that was supposed to dry clear, I could always see it. The black glue doesn't get in the way of me wearing colored liner either.

I see girls around here who look like they've placed the lashes directly on their lid. I just stare. Also, a lot of those beauty supply store lashes look so artificial. The lashes are too shiny, band too thick. Ick. You couldn't give me those things to wear.

 It's so funny given my comment right after yours and I hadn't read this first. I love red cherry lashes #43. I just got them and they aren't very dramatic at all and easy to apply.

Lashes can take some getting used to at first. I've just started wearing them again when I make time to apply them, and I'm becoming more confident with each application. I think, natural or not, lashes can really take a makeup look from 0 to 100.

I love falsies. It takes me a lil to put them on but i love them. Some people go overboard yes but I honestly think they're fun to wear and whenever I've worn them I get double takes even the fiancé notices like omg*.

I don't mind it when people know I'm wearing false lashes. I can't be obsessed with what's natural. If I take time to wear makeup, what's wrong with people knowing it's makeup as long as it's well done? That's the problem. The lashes are bad, the application is bad. I wear dramatic lashes with no place special to go and I like it just fine.

I probably never really notice the good falsies. When I think of false lashes it's the big dramatic ones that come to mind, so I guess that's why I never bothered trying some.

The other day my mom and cousin were talking about a girl they know who wears terrible false lashes all the time that fall off, blah blah. I had to tell them not everyone who wears falsies looks like that and then I mentioned myself. They were so confused. My mom was like you wear fake eyelashes? She sees me every damn day and didn't know. She notices everything, but didn't know that and I've worn some pretty dramatic (I think) lashes around her. Their minds were blown. :haha:
