Toying Around is NOTHING like Mangrove in the slightest. (I've tried them both on my lips already, for reference - NC15/dark hair) Toying Around is coral. It's pretty light on the red and heavier on the orange, but it doesn't read orange. It's very close to Toxic Tale - the closest we've seen from MAC since TT came out. It's bright, if not quite as bright as TT (it's a tiny touch darker than TT too). Mangrove is RED, a warm red but not one of those reds that look exactly like orange combined with one's skin tone - too much red in there for that. Mangrove is a sophisticated color; one you could wear all year round. It's got a very interesting combination of dull and bright to it that looks very subtly unusual, compared to the usual movie star reds, bright reds or brick reds. Toying Around is for a fun, blaring color, for spring, summer and other outrageous situations. It's very youthful and loud. Mangrove is for a super high fashion, modern red that is all about runway style. It's not in your face, but it's unique in a subtle way. I was going to skip it, but the more I think about it, the more I am feeling like it will be a very interesting addition to my reds - for when I want to be ultra-minimalist glam, and at my chicest. If you just want a super peppy, trendy happy party time color, Toying Around is the one, over Mangrove.
