"Modern gorgeous" is the best way to describe it! It's red, but it's unique at the same time.
As for MAC nail polishes, some are definitely better than others, but the overall quality has been going up the past couple of years.
MAC is particularly good at unusual neutrals, but sometimes they're intentionally rather sheer and I think that hangs some people up. I don't have tons of MAC polish, but some of my all time favorites and most used bottles are MAC all the way - the blue Gareth Pugh, Breezy Blue (I'm on ration with that one, I've only got half a bottle left), Sweet Pop from All About Orange, In the Buff from To the Beach (also on ration), Triumphant from Strength..there are others. I didn't see the neutral Proenza polish, but that red one behaves perfectly, a real dream to apply…I've gone on about it already, although I probably am going to skip it, since I've already got an Orly red that's quite close on me that'll work with Mangrove like a charm.
In further polish news, MAC is doing a complete polish reformulation coming up, dropping the price (I was told to $10 a bottle, which is just
) and a brand new style of brush that's rounded all around the edge to really get a perfect curved line around the cuticle. I don't know the colors, but there are A LOT. I guess MAC is serious about moving past their polish reputation this time, as the price drop indicates, loud and clear. Nothing says "give us your business" quite like that. Although I'm sure it'll creep up over the years just like everything.
