I don't think it was rude.To each their own, Dolly. That post was pretty rude.
I voiced an opinion and stated if I wanted advice, i'd ask for it.

Yeah, that about sums it up.I don't think it was rude. I voiced an opinion and stated if I wanted advice, i'd ask for it.
Too funny.. I actually just watched one of pixiwoo's old tutorials with Stone in it the other day! She was doing exactly that look. Really pretty and subtle! It's because of the gray in it. Gray automatically create shadow on the face which causes those areas to recede, which in turn makes whatever is next to it come forward. It's a lovely effect.
I can still see it. That's clearly just me though.Too funny.. I actually just watched one of pixiwoo's old tutorials with Stone in it the other day! She was doing exactly that look. Really pretty and subtle! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEUoMIb2Ixk
This is the first video I watched that made me want stone months ago! I love it :eyelove:Too funny.. I actually just watched one of pixiwoo's old tutorials with Stone in it the other day! She was doing exactly that look. Really pretty and subtle! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xEUoMIb2Ixk
Me too! Still haven't picked it up though.. lol. Every time I see how brown it is in real life I get scared away. This is the first video I watched that made me want stone months ago! I love it![]()
Yea it is just my personal taste. I get wanting to make ones lips fuller. But to me it doesn't even make them fuller....is that weird :lol:Oh yeah, for sure! I can see the shadow too. I don't think there would really be much of an effect if you couldn't. I like it more when it's not as bold, like this: http://asseenbybea.com/2014/04/13/how-to-make-your-lips-look-fuller/ I don't wear many bold lip colors so this is a nice way to spice up the nudes. Not everyone has the same taste though! Me too! Still haven't picked it up though.. lol. Every time I see how brown it is in real life I get scared away.
Lol cat fight! To each their own, Dolly. That post was pretty rude.
Nope, no cat fight.Lol cat fight!
Nope lol perhaps because I have fuller lips already that could be the issue :lol:Lol, I dunno! They look fuller and more defined to me! Do you feel like glosses make the lips look fuller?
nah lol differences in opinions is all. Mandy and I are coolLol cat fight!
lmao possible. But my lips aren't super full lol. I also studied psychology so I know what you are saying. And it is pretty true. But my brain just focuses on it even when I don't know it has been done. However it can still look beautiful on those who do it. I'm not saying it is ugly or anything like that.Possibly!Just wondered because from a psychology perspective, part of the illusion is that the eye is attracted to light and interprets shadow as being further away. Glosses on the lips and highlights on the face work the same way. But if you're focusing in on the shadow because you know it's there, you might be ruining the optical illusion for your brain! My lips are probably a medium fullness but I can definitely tell the difference when I wear mattes vs glossy finishes. Maybe there's a critical point where your lips are so full that any extra fullness looks negligible?
For sure, just curious! It's always interesting hearing what trends people like or dislike and why, and how they perceive things.I also studied psychology so I know what you are saying. Dolly i totally agree with you on this point. If the liner isn't blended and is too dark, it looks like outlined lips and just fakety fake fake. Like Salt & Pepper around 1992.lmao possible. It does look fake.Dolly i totally agree with you on this point. If the liner isn't blended and is too dark, it looks like outlined lips and just fakety fake fake. Like Salt & Pepper around 1992.
Yeah I'm not into dark, unblended liner either. But I do like the subtle shadow.Dolly i totally agree with you on this point. If the liner isn't blended and is too dark, it looks like outlined lips and just fakety fake fake. Like Salt & Pepper around 1992.
Perhaps the other reason is, I don't really use liners to line my lips either....I use them like lipstick, by themselves :lol:For sure, just curious! It's always interesting hearing what trends people like or dislike and why, and how they perceive things.
I love Cranberry for that! If I do use liners I always fill it in and either wear it by itself or put a gloss or lipstick over it. I don't think I've ever worn a liner all around the outside.Perhaps the other reason is, I don't really use liners to line my lips either....I use them like lipstick, by themselves![]()
