Very dark times indeedThose were dark times in the MAC world. Dark times indeed.
Those that ordered using this current link won't really know if they are ok until they get their package in their hands. They may be alright...if MAC doesn't find out. That doesn't sound good for the ones who have ordered already. And I hate when things get cancelled. You think everything is ok, and then boooom cancelled and they keep your money for days.![]()
That's a good thing! IMO they had to make an impact to deter people.. you'd have resellers always trying to get around the ordering process if there were no consequences. That being said it's sad for all of the regular people who were just following everyone else because they were afraid of missing out. And MAC definitely needs better site developers to lock that down.A year later and people are still scarred. lol
I'd rather just wait to be sure I get my product IMOThose that ordered using this current link won't really know if they are ok until they get their package in their hands. They may be alright...if MAC doesn't find out.
I've never been able to find it from my phone so I don't knowIs there a way to use the site map on mobile?
MAC not find out...haha they will, they always do. MAC will still put a flag on the account and name. Those that ordered using this current link won't really know if they are ok until they get their package in their hands. They may be alright...if MAC doesn't find out.
Agreed. I think it'll be okay as long as MAC doesn't put 2 and 2 together. Those that ordered using this current link won't really know if they are ok until they get their package in their hands. They may be alright...if MAC doesn't find out.
I hope no one snitches about the links like last time.. especially when the Simpsons release is so close. We don't need any drama![]()
Yup exactlyQuestion: doesn't pro customers have a pro discount on LE items as well? Wouldn't it be a red flag for MAC if someone orders today without getting the discount?
Till this thread is open to the public and not on The Scoop. Then they read back and see the how to...we will be doomed.:werd: I hope what's happening here stays here.
The chatter isn't what will be their smoking gun. It will be the specific link being used that will. Might make them look at accounts that ordered prior to the official release. If those accounts aren't pro accounts then they'll know you went through some back door link. Although you'd think MAC would invest in strengthening their IT infrastructure so that it would detect when non-pro accounts are ordering during a pro period. Or anyone ordering before a true release. But we've never accused MAC of being the most logical of companies lolIt's not difficult to make an account here on specktra and write 10 posts.... It's not like everything we are talking about can't be found by a simple click or google search. So yeah, MAC will find out onetime or another.
Not necessarily.. If you were a Pro member in the past and never renewed, you still have early access just not a discount. But that is rare.Question: doesn't pro customers have a pro discount on LE items as well? Wouldn't it be a red flag for MAC if someone orders today without getting the discount?
It has the official maccosmetics.com domain so it can't be phishing.I wonder if anyone would ever have to worry about a link that is supposed to give you early access...and everything about it seems like it does...only to find out it was a phishing type thing to get your money. Not to put fear in anyone...but it just occurred to me that if anyone really wanted to do it they could easily do so and make a ton of money. Imagine how much money a MAC release pulls in the first few hours...
