OK ladies I need your advice. UPS lost my entire giant order of this collection earlier in the week (when they showed that it was delivered but it clearly was not). I notified MAC and immediately they overnighted me all the replacements! Totally impressive!!!!

The funny thing is that the overnighted box arrived at my doorstep yesterday along with the lost box (thanks a lot UPS). That was after I spent an hour talking to UPS over the phone and getting nowhere and then leaving a GIANT note on my door about the missing box on Thursday. Miraculously, my UPS driver found the box (apparently) and redelivered on Friday.

I want to send back one of the 2 boxes because this is $250 worth of items I have now in duplicate and I feel bad about it. BUT if they are just going to toss it away since they are returns, I would honestly rather donate the makeup to one of my charities that I do free makeup for sometimes.

What should I do? Does MAC automatically toss all returns. Everything in one of the boxes is clearly unopened and untouched although I did open the box to see what was in it since I was not expecting it to be found!

Thanks! Katherine
You could always re-sell them for the same price, that's guilt-free. Or save them and give them to people as gifts for Christmas. It's an honest mistake, and if MAC can't get any money back on the returns... But I'd wait and see if anyone else knows more about whether they can at least recycle the containers or something.

Something similar happened to me once from a terrible, overpriced, store that donates money to less-than-great causes and only supports good causes when it can make money (but more of it's money goes to bad things). So... I didn't tell them they screwed up and didn't charge me. It actually made me feel BETTER lol MAC, on the other hand, has always been AMAZING to me. Their stuff isn't overpriced, the products are great, they get me my stuff right away. ONCE they sent me a box and a lipliner was missing (even though it was listed on the receipt) but I just called and they sent it to me. And once a brush of theirs fell apart the first time I used it, but they replaced it immediately, no questions asked. So I keep giving them my business and I've NEVER returned anything. Even when I got something I honestly wasn't happy with, because when that happens, it's because i ordered something online instead of waiting until it was in-store, so that's MY fault. I don't return things if it's my fault, I just give it to someone who would like it more.

Oh wow thats crazy that this happened. If it had happened to me I would've contacted Mac and let them know about it, who knows they might just let you keep everything since it was a big misunderstanding with UPS but I would feel very guilty if I didn't at least let them know what happened.

They will toss it regardless (even if the box isn't opened). What you might have to worry about is if UPS updated that they rede livered to the correct address along with the replacement. They may charge you again if it's not returned. You could call them to see what they say or you could hold on to it for a bit to see if they charge you again. :shrugs:

They are fabulous for replacing lost UPS orders I had that happen once, I think you need to follow your heart, and no it cannot be sent to another customer, it will be tossed. It's a matter of safety, remember the Tylenol poisoning some lady did? Its a massive company owned by Estee lauder, it will not take a chance on any returned cosmetics and if you call them they will tell you to keep it.

Guess I wasn't done with this collection. Since I've been on the hunt for great nudes, I went back to try Obviously Bare and De Nude and loved them both. De Nude, in particular, looks great over NYX's Maison. I'm tempted to back up De Nude.

Thanks for the advice ladies about the UPS saga. I emailed CS and this is how they replied (very nicely, I have to say). The box has obviously been opened (I had no idea I was getting a double of it -- I thought it was my Simpsons stuff coming). Now what? They are generating the label for me and the rest of the email says I should have it in 3-4 days. Do I send it back or call CS and discuss it further. I specifically asked about them throwing the products away if I ship back. SO do I assume they would not if I sent it back unopened. But they likely will even though I resealed the box?

Thank you for your kind email. I am very glad that your items arrived in time for your weekend photo shoot. We appreciate you letting us know about the duplicate items.. We are happy to send you a postage paid UPS return label via email that you can put on the unopened box and send back to us without any shipping costs to you. All you need to do is drop it off at a UPS location near you.

They will trash it. It's a safety thing regardless. They have no way of knowing what the contents were exposed to once it was out of their possession. If they are having you return it then it's out of your hands what they will do with it. You can call if you like but your account is already noted with the email correspondence that you have had so I don't think anything different will happen. :shrugs:

As [@]butterflyeyes[/@] said, it will be trashed, whether it was opened or not, even if you told them the specifics of what happened. It's a safety factor. It's sad that $250 worth of makeup with go in the trash. It would've made a nice donation tho :(

I bought NTS two days ago. I thought I would be able to skip this collection but obviously I wasn't

To be honest with you guys this is my first blush ever (@Vineetha: I got my first blush

)
blush-anim-cl.gif
and I bought it to try it out and use it as a contour.
It is a really nice and subtle shade - as I am more into natural looking make up (on me) I think that's just the shade for me.
Too bad that my skin is not nice at the moment (really dry and I can't really do anything about it), bec that makes it hard to apply that baby evenly.
I haven't used it as an eyeshadow yet but I might try that as well :)

I really love natural looking satin finish blush. Pinks are a new discovery for me; my daughter gave me her Dollymix when her skating team changed shades and I was shocked to discover how much I love it and started trying other shades. I've always worn corals and neutrals; coral is the largest chunk of my stash but pink is catching up quickly.
All of my MAC blushes are satin except for two, one of those being Pink Cult. In fact I almost skipped PC because it was matte. The only non pink MAC blushes I have are Cream Soda and Immortal Flower. Sadly I have never worn either of them. I definitely need to give them try.

Wow. I'm surprised they sent you replacements free of charge. I don't know if they'd throw them away if the items are unopened though.

This collection was not a hit for me. I'm a lipstick girl and since I already own siss and yash I didnt attempt to purchase anything. Trying to hold out for rocky horror and the matte lip collection. By the way :new:
