You could always re-sell them for the same price, that's guilt-free. Or save them and give them to people as gifts for Christmas. It's an honest mistake, and if MAC can't get any money back on the returns... But I'd wait and see if anyone else knows more about whether they can at least recycle the containers or something.OK ladies I need your advice. UPS lost my entire giant order of this collection earlier in the week (when they showed that it was delivered but it clearly was not). I notified MAC and immediately they overnighted me all the replacements! Totally impressive!!!!
The funny thing is that the overnighted box arrived at my doorstep yesterday along with the lost box (thanks a lot UPS). That was after I spent an hour talking to UPS over the phone and getting nowhere and then leaving a GIANT note on my door about the missing box on Thursday. Miraculously, my UPS driver found the box (apparently) and redelivered on Friday.
I want to send back one of the 2 boxes because this is $250 worth of items I have now in duplicate and I feel bad about it. BUT if they are just going to toss it away since they are returns, I would honestly rather donate the makeup to one of my charities that I do free makeup for sometimes.
What should I do? Does MAC automatically toss all returns. Everything in one of the boxes is clearly unopened and untouched although I did open the box to see what was in it since I was not expecting it to be found!
Thanks! Katherine
Something similar happened to me once from a terrible, overpriced, store that donates money to less-than-great causes and only supports good causes when it can make money (but more of it's money goes to bad things). So... I didn't tell them they screwed up and didn't charge me. It actually made me feel BETTER lol MAC, on the other hand, has always been AMAZING to me. Their stuff isn't overpriced, the products are great, they get me my stuff right away. ONCE they sent me a box and a lipliner was missing (even though it was listed on the receipt) but I just called and they sent it to me. And once a brush of theirs fell apart the first time I used it, but they replaced it immediately, no questions asked. So I keep giving them my business and I've NEVER returned anything. Even when I got something I honestly wasn't happy with, because when that happens, it's because i ordered something online instead of waiting until it was in-store, so that's MY fault. I don't return things if it's my fault, I just give it to someone who would like it more.
